At Visy, we love solving problems together. We're looking for a practical and people-focused Shift Manager to lead afternoon operations at our Auckland glass beneficiation facility.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for the safety, performance and engagement of your team while ensuring production, quality and customer requirements are met. You'll work closely with two other Shift Managers and a cross-functional site team to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

If you're the type of leader who enjoys being visible on the floor, supporting your team, improving processes and setting high safety standards, we'd love to hear from you. Please note this is for afternoon shift – Monday to Friday, 1pm-9pm.

What you'll do

  • Drive a strong safety culture through visible leadership, compliance and risk management activities.
  • Coordinate daily plant operations to maximise efficiency, reliability and operational performance.
  • Monitor product quality and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal teams, contractors, transport providers and customers.
  • Manage shift reporting, workforce planning and operational issues to ensure targets are consistently met.

What You Will Bring

  • Experience leading teams within manufacturing, processing, recycling, logistics or other industrial environments.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
  • Proven ability to motivate, develop and hold teams accountable for performance.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of a business.
  • Sound problem-solving abilities and the confidence to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competent computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Excel and operational reporting systems.
  • Forklift license and/or Class 2 license is desirable, otherwise we can support you to obtain these licenses.

About Visy

Visy is powering the circular economy, closing the loop between packaging, recycling and remanufacturing. We believe materials are not truly recycled until they’re made into something new - and it all starts with Visy Recycling. As Australia’s largest recycler, our extensive network of recycling operations is integrated with our manufacturing sites. We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper, cardboard, glass, plastics and metals from households and businesses, and locally remanufacture them back into new, sustainable packaging.
