About the role

As a Senior Policy Officer (AO5) within Vegetation Policy, Land Policy and Strategy, Lands Division, you will contribute to the delivery of operational policy and system-based services that support Queensland's vegetation management framework.

Working within a small, collaborative team, you will help deliver projects, undertake research and analysis, and provide support for vegetation management systems, statutory mapping, and land and soil management initiatives.

In this role, you will coordinate the management of vegetation management systems by identifying issues, documenting improvements, assisting with testing and supporting implementation activities. You will provide operational support to front-line staff, contribute to advice on operational policy matters, analyse vegetation management data and trends, and assist in preparing reports, briefing notes, presentations and correspondence. The role also requires effective stakeholder engagement, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Success in this role will come from your ability to apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, manage multiple tasks and contribute to practical solutions that improve business processes and service delivery. Experience in systems management, mapping data interpretation and knowledge of Queensland's vegetation management framework will be highly regarded.
