About the role

The Coal Assessment Hub plays an important role in supporting the responsible development and management of Queensland's coal resources. As a Project Officer, you will contribute to assessments that help inform exploration, mining and land use decisions across the state, supporting sustainable resource development outcomes.

In this role, you will undertake research and analysis to support the assessment of exploration and mining development proposals, environmental impact statements and spatial planning projects. You will prepare reports, briefings, correspondence and submissions on complex matters, contribute to legislative and policy reviews, maintain project records and reporting systems, and assist in identifying and resolving project issues and risks. You'll also liaise with internal stakeholders and government agencies to gather information and support coordinated assessment processes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional with sound analytical and problem-solving skills, an ability to interpret legislation and policy, and capacity to manage competing priorities while building productive working relationships. Knowledge of Queensland's resources sector or experience supporting assessment, regulatory or administrative processes will also be highly regarded.

A degree qualification in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Town Planning, Law, or related disciplines is mandatory for this role.
