  • Research materials, supplies, and vendors to ensure quality, price, and availability; foster relationships with vendors to acquire all materials/parts, tools, and consumables; coordinate deliveries and facilitate the unloading and processing of materials
  • Work with faculty to prepare quarterly inventory and resources; ensure the sales terminal is up to date and accurate; maintain sufficient inventories to meet academic demands

Additionally, as a shop manager, you will:

  • Demonstrate the safe operation of shop equipment and related procedures; implement and comply with all safety policies and procedures; coordinate with an environmental health and safety (EHS) officer to implement OSHA standards
  • Coordinate with EHS to train staff on first aid and emergency protocols; ensure first aid stations are stocked; administer basic first aid as needed
  • Work directly with students and faculty to ensure support and quality of output; advise students on basic fabrication issues; correct file setup and complete projects
