About the role

Senior Technical Program Manager, Bank Connectivity

WHO WE ARE

At Trustly, we're building a smarter, faster, and more secure financial future by revolutionizing the world of payments. As a global leader in Open Banking Payments, we are establishing Pay by Bank as the new standard at checkout, providing unparalleled freedom, speed, and ease to millions of consumers and merchants worldwide.

Our Ambition: To build the world’s most disruptive payment network and redefine what the payment experience should feel like.

Trustly is a global team of innovators, collaborators, and doers. If you are driven by a strong sense of purpose and thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and high-growth environment, join us and be part of a team that’s transforming the way the world pays.

About the Bank Connectivity team

Bank Connectivity is how Trustly reaches consumers' bank accounts in the US. The team connects through direct bank APIs, core and online banking providers, data aggregators and our own native connectivity. On top of those connections, it runs the consent, account data and identity services that every Trustly payment depends on.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will own the programs that keep Bank Connectivity running and help it grow, from adding new banks and partners to improving the platform. You will coordinate the work across engineering, product, partnerships and the partners themselves, and report to the VP, Bank Connectivity. As Trustly builds its US engineering hubs, you will help shape how Bank Connectivity takes on new services and deliver that change without disrupting the payments that depend on it.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own Bank Connectivity programs, including new bank, provider and aggregator integrations, migrations and platform improvements, each with clear milestones and owners.
  • Plan and run programs that move services and responsibilities between teams, working with the staff engineers who design the technical path.
  • Run partner onboarding and certification with the partnerships team.
  • Track connection health, including success rates, breakages and time to repair, and lead the response when a partner change breaks a connection.
  • Run the weekly operating rhythm of status, risks, dependencies and decisions, and keep it visible to engineering and business leaders.
  • Use AI tools to automate status updates, dependency tracking and reporting, so the team spends its time on decisions.
  • Tie delivery to business outcomes such as bank coverage, conversion and partner commitments.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 7+ years of technical program management, including programs that span several engineering teams and external partners.
  • Experience in payments, banking, open banking or data aggregation.
  • Technical depth to follow API, authentication, consent and integration discussions, and to spot risk before engineers raise it.
  • A record of running a migration or ownership change on a live system without a drop in reliability.
  • A record of getting teams that do not report to you to commit to plans and deliver on them.
  • Clear, calm and specific communication under pressure, including during incidents.

PREFERRED

  • Experience onboarding bank or aggregator partners.
  • Experience running compliance driven programs, such as work related to Section 1033.
  • Experience helping build a new engineering hub.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
