We are looking for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of our accounting operations and play a key role in delivering accurate, timely financial reporting. You'll bring strong technical expertise and sound judgment to guide complex accounting matters, while supervising and mentoring our accounting team. You'll be joining a collaborative finance team where your expertise will directly support sound financial decision-making across the business.

What you'll be doing

• Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Perform bank, balance sheet, intercompany, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Supervise and review the work of junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as required.
• Ensure proper documentation, accuracy, and confidentiality of all financial records.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Reconcile bank accounts and monitor financial transactions.

What you'll need to be successful

Must haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a senior accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and relevant tax regulations.
• Experience in preparing financial statements and managing month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Nice to have

• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent) is an advantage
• Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains and/or Prophix and/or Planful considered an asset
