About the role

Ready to empower teams, support healthcare leaders, and elevate the employee experience across our Maryland locations?

Planned Parenthood of Maryland (PPM) is seeking a collaborative, responsive, and people-centered People Experience Partner to serve as the primary HR partner for an assigned portfolio of departments, health centers, and functional teams. In this versatile role, you will build trusted relationships with managers and staff, translating People strategies into effective day-to-day practices throughout the employee lifecycle. If you thrive in a multi-site healthcare environment and want to use your advanced HR generalist expertise for a vital mission, we want you on our team!

Inside the Role

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, the People Operations Partner provides dedicated HR business partnership across assigned health centers and departments. You will guide managers through workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations intake, and benefits administration.

In addition to portfolio coverage, you will lead designated functional specialties such as talent acquisition, employee engagement events, HR metrics/dashboards, or payroll auditing, adapting as organizational needs evolve. This is a field-forward, hybrid role requiring travel across our Maryland health centers up to 80% of the time.

Your Day-to-Day Impact

Portfolio Partnership & Workforce Support: Serve as the primary People Experience contact for your assigned health centers and teams, partnering with managers to execute workforce plans, coordinate recruitment, and provide practical guidance on workplace policies.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Partner with hiring managers on candidate selection logistics and hiring transactions, coordinating welcoming, organized, and compliant onboarding experiences for new hires.

Performance Enablement & Employee Relations: Guide managers through performance reviews, coaching, and corrective action documentation. Conduct initial intake and consultation for employee relations concerns, ensuring fair policy application and alignment with collective bargaining agreement (CBA) provisions.

Benefits, Leave & Lifecycle Administration: Provide employee-facing support for benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, and leave requests, partnering with the People Operations Coordinator to execute accurate personnel changes.

Specialized Projects & Analytics: Support assigned departmental specialties, such as developing workforce metrics and KPI dashboards, assisting with payroll auditing, or supporting PPFA accreditation and healthcare compliance

What You Need to Succeed

Experience: Minimum of four (4) or more years of progressive HR experience as an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or in People Experience or People Operations functions (experience supporting multi-location or multi-department teams strongly preferred).

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred (or equivalent relevant work experience).

Preferred Certifications: SHRM-CP or HRCI PHR certification is a plus.

Industry & Systems Background: Prior HR experience in healthcare, multi-unit, or non-profit settings is preferred, along with hands-on comfort using ADP, Lattice, and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).

Employment Law & Compliance: Solid working knowledge of federal and Maryland employment laws, with the ability to navigate collective bargaining/union obligations and healthcare compliance requirements.

Travel Requirements: Ability to travel across the state of Maryland up to 80% of the time. Must possess a valid Maryland driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.

Core Intangibles: Strong consultation, conflict-resolution, and active listening skills, combined with cultural humility, discretion with confidential information, and a deep commitment to Planned Parenthood's mission.

Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred.
