Position Summary/Job Duties:

We’re looking for a reliable, energetic person to help our busy family with after-school care for our 10-year-old son (5th grade) and 7-year-old daughter (2nd grade).

The role is a mix of childcare, reading support, and light household help, including:

  • Preparing after-school snacks and helping the kids get ready for activities
  • Playing games, doing crafts, and keeping the kids engaged
  • Providing extra reading practice and support for both children
  • Helping with light household tasks such as dishes, laundry, floors, and wiping down counters
  • Encouraging the kids to pitch in with age-appropriate chores
  • Driving to occasional scheduled activities (mileage reimbursed)

We also have two cats and a dog, so being comfortable with pets is important!

Both kids could use some additional support with reading, so experience with tutoring, literacy, education, or working with elementary-age kids is a big plus. We’d also love someone willing to help keep the household running through dishes, laundry, floors, counters, organization, and getting the kids involved in chores too.

Candidates with experience or training in reading tutoring/literacy support and/or those interested in taking on deeper cleaning and household organization will be considered at the higher end of our pay range.

Hours: Ideally Monday–Thursday, 2–5 or 2:30–5:30, with some flexibility. We’d love to find someone who may also be interested in continuing into the summer with additional hours.

Application Instructions:

Email the following:

-Description of availability: approx start/end date, weekly availability, any major planned time off.

-A short description of why you would be a good fit: work experience, interests, etc.

-Confirm you have access to a car.

The family will follow up with next steps to further discuss the job.
