About the role

There was a time when all of America believed that the future of the physical world could be radically different. The engineers of the mid-1900s put a man on the moon in eight years, designed and built planes and submarines from scratch in under three, and conceived of building things we wouldn’t even be able to dream up today.

Today, the last of the engineers who imagined and built these systems are retiring. As they go, we lose not only the engineering knowledge gained from their decades of imagination and trial-and-error, but also the spirit that made that imagination possible.

Amca is working day-in and day-out to restore America’s ability to engineer anything that our critical systems depend on, and reinvigorate the cycle of creation that allows imagination to shape physical reality. We rapidly develop and manufacture new critical components and subsystems required to build and sustain the planes, military vehicles, and core infrastructure America needs. By restoring the capability of our antiquated supply chains, we increase the country’s capacity to imagine and realize new systems, and make a physical world that looks very different from today.

Overview

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for receiving and inspecting all incoming aerospace components, hardware, and materials. You will verify every shipment against purchase orders and documentation, ensure parts meet engineering requirements before they reach the floor, and own internal material movement throughout the shop from receiving through build completion.

Responsibilities

Receiving & Inspection

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities, part numbers, and conditions against purchase orders and packing documentation
  • Inspect parts against engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable quality requirements
  • Review material certifications, certificates of conformance, and traceability documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Identify, tag, and quarantine nonconforming material and initiate the NCR/MRB process
  • Log all receipts accurately in the ERP/MRP system with correct part numbers, lots, serials, and dates
  • Communicate discrepancies, shortages, and substitutions to supply chain and production teams promptly
  • Maintain organized receiving records and inspection logs in accordance with quality system requirements

Internal Material Movement & Shop Support

  • Own internal material movement throughout the shop — from receiving and stockroom through kitting, staging, and delivery to the build area
  • Prepare work orders by kitting parts and hardware and staging materials so builds can start without delay
  • Support cycle counts, physical inventory, and stockroom organization
  • Keep the receiving area and material storage areas clean, organized, and safe

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of receiving, inspection, or warehouse experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Proficiency with basic measurement tools — calipers, micrometers, gauges
  • Experience cross-referencing received hardware against purchase orders and accompanying documentation
  • Experience logging receipts in an ERP or MRP system
  • Sharp attention to detail and high standards for accuracy
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and every role matters
  • Nice to have
  • Aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing background
  • Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, or similar quality standards
  • Experience supporting NCR/MRB disposition
  • Forklift certification

Compensation and Benefits

  • $25-30 / hourly
  • Gold PPO health insurance with $0 deductible 100% covered by Amca,
  • Dental and Vision insurance 100% covered by Amca
