About the role

XTB is a global financial technology company focusing on online trading of financial instruments. We are the largest FinTech in Poland and a leader in Central and Eastern Europe, with our operations covering multiple countries across Europe, Asia, and South America. At XTB, we focus on the growth of our employees, giving them opportunities to gain knowledge and skills in various fields, as well as offering a number of training and development programs.

At XTB Spain, we are looking for a Legal Officer with experience in the financial sector to join our Legal Department in Madrid. You will work under the responsibility of the Head of Legal Spain, providing legal criteria and practical solutions to the branch's needs.

We are looking for a person capable of managing their matters with autonomy, precision, and organization, combining regulatory knowledge with an understanding of the business and close collaboration with Customer Service, Sales and international teams.

We are a certified Great Place to Work company.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate legal and regulatory reporting to official bodies, such as the CNMV (National Securities Market Commission) and the Tax Agency, collecting and reviewing information and following internal validation circuits.
  • Analyze Spanish and European regulatory changes, assess their impact on the activity and propose necessary adaptations in documentation, procedures and projects.
  • Update, review and translate legal documentation, ensuring its precision, coherence and correctness for the branch's activity.
  • Manage requirements from public bodies: analyze the request, gather background information, prepare the response and monitor deadlines.
  • Update, translate and implement internal procedures in coordination with the areas involved and HQ.
  • Provide legal support to Customer Service and Sales, resolve inquiries, and analyze claims and complex situations requiring legal criteria.
  • Collaborate on projects for new products, services or functionalities, identifying their legal implications and the necessary actions.
  • Coordinate with the Legal Operations Officer to validate legal issues in files and provide clear action criteria.
  • Prioritize matters, document conclusions and escalate risks or decisions that require the intervention of the Head of Legal.

The scope of the position does not include anti-money laundering prevention, reporting to SEPBLAC, suspicious activity communications or maintaining AML documentation.

Requirements

  • Degree in Law.
  • At least 5 years of relevant legal experience in financial institutions or law firms advising the financial sector, with direct responsibility for regulatory matters and business support.
  • Solid knowledge of Spanish and European legislation on financial markets and investment services, especially MiFID II, MiFIR, and the Spanish securities market framework.
  • Knowledge of finance, securities markets, and financial instruments, including derivatives, and an understanding of how a broker operates.
  • Experience in drafting and reviewing legal documentation, managing requirements, and developing internal procedures.
  • Ability to apply regulations to specific cases, substantiate recommendations and deliver complete and reviewed work.
  • Autonomy to organize work, manage deadlines and combine projects with day-to-day inquiries.
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills and clear communication with legal and non-legal profiles. Good command of Excel and documentation and tracking tools.

Languages and Supplementary Training

Spanish with excellent oral and written expression and a very high level of English, essential for reviewing and drafting documentation and collaborating with international teams. Specialized training in financial regulation, Compliance or securities markets will be valued.

Knowledge or experience with SQL and databases is a plus.

What we offer

  • Permanent contract with fixed and variable salary depending on experience.
  • Restaurant tickets, health insurance and flexible working hours.
  • Hybrid model with 2 days of remote work per week.
  • Work in an international environment and collaboration with different teams.
  • Professional development opportunities within XTB.
