About the role

We are looking for an experienced risk leader who will play a key role in further developing XTB’s risk management framework across the Group and act as a close partner to the board. Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, you will be the CRO’s senior delegate for the day-to-day leadership and development of the Group risk function.

This is a senior leadership role combining strong technical risk expertise, business judgement, and people management. You will lead experienced specialist teams, play a key role in Group-wide risk processes, and help ensure that XTB’s approach to risk continues to evolve in line with the increasing scale, complexity, and international footprint of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop the Capital Adequacy and Financial Risk teams, supporting Team Leaders and team members, setting priorities and ensuring effective delivery of ongoing activities and projects.
  • Oversee the calculation and monitoring of regulatory capital requirements, capital adequacy processes, capital planning, ICAAP/ICARA and stress testing.
  • Oversee prudential reporting processes, ensuring the accuracy, consistency and timely delivery of internal and regulatory reports.
  • Support the development of financial risk management, including market and counterparty risk, risk limits, stress testing and monitoring of key financial exposures.
  • Coordinate and challenge the validation of financial instrument valuation models, with particular focus on options.
  • Support the development and improvement of market risk measurement methodologies, including VaR, Expected Shortfall, stress testing and other risk metrics.
  • Lead and coordinate projects aimed at improving risk management processes, capital requirements calculations, data quality, analytical tools and automation.
  • Participate in the assessment and implementation of new products and business initiatives, helping to identify and address their risk and capital implications.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with a solid background in risk management, strong analytical skills and the ability to lead people and deliver results. You should be comfortable working with technical experts, understanding complex risk topics and translating them into practical actions.

  • Experience in financial risk management, capital adequacy or related areas within a regulated financial institution, preferably an investment firm, bank or other business with material trading and financial market exposure.
  • Good knowledge of financial risk management or capital adequacy, with a solid understanding of the other area.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework applicable to investment firms or banks
  • Good understanding of financial markets, trading activities and financial instruments, including derivatives and options.
  • Practical experience in financial instrument valuation, particularly options, with the ability to assess pricing models, test assumptions and challenge valuation results.
  • Ability to apply and further develop market risk measurement methodologies, including VaR, Expected Shortfall, stress testing and risk limits.
  • Experience in managing or coordinating the work of teams and risk professionals, with the ability to set priorities, support development and ensure delivery.
  • Experience in implementing process improvements, developing analytical tools or coordinating projects involving multiple departments.
  • Strong communication skills, a proactive approach and the ability to work effectively with business and technical teams.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.

What We Offer

  • A senior leadership role in a dynamic, international FinTech environment
  • Opportunity to shape capital adequacy and financial risk strategies for XTB Group
  • Exposure to global financial markets and high-value clients
  • Professional development and continuous learning opportunities
  • Collaborative culture with high-performing, ambitious teams
