About the role

WHO WE ARE

At Trustly, we're building a smarter, faster, and more secure financial future by revolutionizing the world of payments. As a global leader in Open Banking Payments, we are establishing Pay by Bank as the new standard at checkout, providing unparalleled freedom, speed, and ease to millions of consumers and merchants worldwide.

Our Ambition: To build the world’s most disruptive payment network and redefine what the payment experience should feel like.

Trustly is a global team of innovators, collaborators, and doers. If you are driven by a strong sense of purpose and thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and high-growth environment, join us and be part of a team that’s transforming the way the world pays.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Trustly is looking for a motivated and experienced Regulatory Compliance Manager to support the development and day-to-day running of the regulatory compliance programme for Trustly in Europe. Trustly’s European business operates primarily through Trustly Group AB (TGAB), a licensed payment institution based in Stockholm and supervised by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen). TGAB provides account-to-account and open banking payment services across Europe, which places us squarely within a fast-moving and heavily regulated industry.

Reporting to the EU/UK Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), the Compliance Manager will support the CCO and the TGAB Compliance Director in executing Trustly’s regulatory compliance strategy. You will implement and manage end-to-end compliance domain programs, including obligations and control mapping, policies and standards, training and advice. Operating within a three-lines-of-defence model, the Compliance Manager will help provide TGAB's Board and Management Team with the reporting they need to exercise effective oversight of compliance operations for the entity.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Implement the Compliance Operating Model, as owner, for one or more compliance domains (for example Safeguarding, Consumer Outcomes, Outsourcing etc), and as a key contributor to other domain programs.
  • Run the domain’s rhythm of business: maintain the governance calendar, support the programme Steering Committee, and make sure each model component is delivered and reported on schedule.
  • Maintain the domain’s Risk Register, Key Obligations Register and policy and standards suite, with clear owners, approval records and review cycles.
  • Prepare the domain’s input to the annual Risk Appetite brief and recommendations for the Board, working with Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Work with first-line control owners to advise on and approve control design.
  • Assemble domain reporting for the Board, executive team and CCO, including programme status reports, effectiveness ratings and the health scorecard.
  • Design and oversee risk and role-based training and advice.
  • Provide support to the TGAB Compliance Director with TGAB Regulatory license maintenance and management as needed.

WHO YOU ARE

  • 3-5 years experience with and/or demonstrable knowledge of payment services regulations is essential.
  • Experience of translating regulatory obligations into policies and standards
  • Working knowledge of the three lines of defence model, including engagement with the first line of defence on control design, and with risk, in particular.
  • Reporting to senior management, Boards and/or Committees.
  • Stakeholder influence: getting first-line owners to act and resolving disagreements through a defined escalation route.
  • Programme and governance management skills a significant plus.
  • A clear communicator with excellent written and spoken English, Swedish language is desirable but not essential.
  • Comfortable working independently and within a team in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Proactive with an ability to take initiative, problem-solve, make decisions and assume responsibility.
  • Strong ability to think critically, analyse complex data, challenge the status quo and make sound recommendations.

WHAT WE OFFER

At Trustly, you will have the chance to solve meaningful challenges alongside some of the brightest minds in FinTech. Together, we are shaping the future of payments in an environment that celebrates curiosity, collaboration, and innovation. You will be challenged and empowered to grow, making a real impact every step of the way.

Our team is as diverse as the global footprint we serve. At Trustly, we foster a workplace where everyone feels they belong—a place where teamwork thrives, ideas flourish, and we never forget to have fun along the way.
