About the role

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

VIDEO & VOICE SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

SpaceX is looking for a Video & Voice Systems Administrator that will design, install, maintain, and fully own the video and voice systems at our data center facilities. You’ll be tightly integrated with our engineering teams that design and build our data centers, rockets, spacecraft and launch sites, as well as our Emmy award-winning webcast team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implementation of video and operational voice systems at our data center and power generation facilities
  • Lead and manage large-scale video and voice systems projects from planning to handover
  • Direct and oversee contractor crews during installation, integration, and troubleshooting
  • Procurement and bidding of video and voice equipment and inventory management

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 2+ years of professional experience building, deploying, and troubleshooting computer systems, hardware, software, and IP networking for enterprise AV support

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience managing large-scale AV integration projects
  • 1+ years of experience working with IP video or baseband SDI
  • Experience working with construction CAD drawings, power/data line drawings, and signal flow diagrams
  • Hands on experience and knowledge of industry standards for a broad range of live show and installed AV systems, including audio, video, cameras, lighting, and network infrastructure
  • Strong working knowledge of building audio/lighting automation and control systems (Q-SYS, Crestron)
  • Understanding and experience with AV networking transports such as AES67, Dante, SRT, RTSP, and RTMP
  • Advanced knowledge of OSI model and network standards

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work in tight quarters and physical dexterity is necessary to preform job functions
  • Availability for extended hours and weekends, as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required
  • Availability for occasional travel, as required (<25%)
  • Position is subject to pre-employment and (as applicable) periodic background, drug, and alcohol testing

ITAR REQUIREMENTS

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
