About the role

Are you ready to become part of something special? At Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Centreville, we focus exclusively on cats and dogs in our general practice setting. Our doctor team is truly collaborative and fosters a supportive learning environment. We're not just looking for another veterinarian—we're seeking a passionate animal care professional who wants to put down roots and become an integral part of our close-knit community.

What Differentiates Caring Hands Centreville

  • Open and Transparent Care: Our transparent approach creates lasting relationships that keep families coming back
  • Fear Free Focus: Strong emphasis on Fear Free techniques and animal behavior for comfortable experiences
  • Exceptional Customer Service: Our clients consistently mention our outstanding service—you'll have enough time to truly connect with clients and provide personalized care for both people and pets

What You'll Love About Working Here

Salary: $120,000-$150,000 base salary + production

Location: 5659 Stone Rd, Centreville, VA 20120

Flexible Scheduling: Current business hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am-8:00pm, Saturday 8:00am-4:00pm, Sunday closed.

  • Real support when you need it. You’ll have a seasoned team of highly experienced support staff and licensed technicians who genuinely have your back, including team members with 15+ years as assistants and 9+ years in reception roles. When we hire new team members—from receptionists to veterinarians—everyone is approachable and committed to supporting each other. We're real people who care.
  • Flexible scheduling that works for YOU. We're open to different schedule arrangements and offer lots of possibilities to find what works best for your life. No on-call duties or after-hours requirements.
  • Exceptional mentorship and collaboration opportunities. Our Medical Director provides strong, flexible mentorship with a structured approach that can be tailored to your individual needs and learning style, making this an ideal position for new graduates. While some of our veterinarians perform surgery and dentistry, we have enough surgical specialists that not everyone is required to do procedures, allowing you to focus on your strengths and interests.
  • Partnership opportunities through Veterinary Practice Partners (VPP), where more than 200+ partners co-own practices across 170+ locations with 400+ Associate DVM’s.
  • Benefits that actually matter—comprehensive health, dental, vision, and retirement packages, plus sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, pet discounts, uniform allowance, CE allowance, Employee Assistance Program, and we cover your dues, license fees, and AVMA-PLIT. Take a breath with generous PTO, paid holidays, and paid CE days annually.

What We're Looking For

  • DVM or VMD degree from an accredited university
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Virginia
  • Most importantly: A kind, compassionate approach that helps maintain our positive culture

About Caring Hands

Caring Hands is a network of nine veterinary hospitals built on creating a better world for animals and the people who love them, reimagining veterinary practice through the most open and transparent experience in the region. As part of our dedicated team, you'll work alongside colleagues who take time to understand each pet's history and visit goals, explaining the "why" behind every recommendation and creating personalized care plans tailored to each pet's unique needs and lifestyle. You'll help remove barriers to care through convenient communication via calls, emails, and picture messages, while ensuring every visit is stress-free with separate spaces for dogs and cats, plenty of treats, and unhurried attention to detail that makes pet families feel valued rather than rushed. With a culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion, Caring Hands creates a supportive work environment where professional relationships are founded on trust and exceptional care, empowering you to partner with informed pet parents to create healthier, happier lives for pets and their families.

Ready to join our veterinary family? We can't wait to meet someone who's as excited about collaborative veterinary medicine and exceptional patient care as we are!
