Value Creation Office – Director

CFGI, founded in 2000, is a dynamic and fast-growing financial consulting firm, serving as the trusted partner to CFOs and their organizations. We help clients tackle complex challenges across accounting, financial reporting, transactions, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation. We blend deep technical expertise with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach to help the world’s leading companies move forward with confidence.

CFGI is seeking a Director to help build and scale a Value Creation practice focused on private equity clients, portfolio companies, and strategic internal initiatives.

This individual will lead value creation programs, develop operational improvement playbooks, and partner closely with executive leadership to drive measurable business outcomes. The role combines strategic problem solving, operational execution, financial performance management, and executive stakeholder engagement.

What you might expect

  • Lead value creation initiatives across CFGI's private equity clients and portfolio companies.
  • Develop value creation playbooks and operational improvement frameworks.
  • Identify and prioritize EBITDA enhancement opportunities across operations, finance, commercial, and corporate functions.
  • Establish governance, initiative tracking, and performance management processes.
  • Drive accountability across initiative owners and business leaders.
  • Oversee value capture tracking, benefits realization, and financial performance reporting.
  • Develop executive-level dashboards, scorecards, and board-ready materials.
  • Facilitate executive operating reviews and steering committee meetings.
  • Support business development, proposal development, and practice-building activities.
  • Mentor junior team members and establish best-practice operating processes.

What you must have

  • 6–10 years of total professional experience in management consulting, value creation, strategic finance, operational improvement, private equity portfolio company operations, or related fields.
  • At least one of the following:
  • 3–5 years of experience at MBB: McKinsey, Bain, or BCG, with progression to a Manager-level position, such as Engagement Manager, Project Leader, Manager, or equivalent, with approximately 1–2 years of experience at that level.
  • 3–5 years of operating experience within a private equity-backed portfolio company.

What sets you apart

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management experience.
  • Strong financial and analytical capabilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.

Nice to have

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience working with private equity funds and portfolio companies preferred.
  • Experience leading operational improvement, cost optimization, or EBITDA enhancement initiatives preferred.
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership teams, boards, or private equity investors preferred.

Who thrives here

  • Excellent communicators who are comfortable engaging and presenting to executive stakeholders.
  • Strategic problem solvers who can connect financial performance with operational execution.
  • Entrepreneurial leaders who are excited to help build and scale a growing practice.
  • Collaborative professionals who can drive accountability across multiple stakeholders and initiative owners.
