About the role

You will provide professional leadership, effective oversight and strategic guidance to ensure services are evidence-based, culturally responsive and focused on reducing reoffending while supporting the wellbeing and rehabilitation of young people. Working closely with operational leaders and external stakeholders, you will contribute to the delivery of integrated services that support safer communities and better futures for young people.

Mandatory qualification requirements apply. As this position sits within the Professional Officer stream, applicants must possess a tertiary qualification at an AQF level 7 (bachlelor degree) or above relevant to the role such as social work, behavioural science or social science, psychology, criminology, or other recognised degree. Applicants should carefully review the role profile to ensure they meet the mandatory eligibility requirements before applying.

This is an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity based in Woodford. Training is located at Wacol and Caboolture prior to the Woodford YDC opening.

Woodford YDC is a new facility, and as it continues to grow, some processes, ways of working and responsibilities may evolve. We are seeking people who are flexible, adaptable and committed to supporting the changing needs of a newly established centre.

  • Work with skilled professionals: Lead and collaborate with a diverse team of allied health, cultural and Youth Justice practitioners.
  • Build your leadership career: Join a department committed to safer communities and better futures for young people.

About You

You are an experienced leader who can inspire, support and develop others while maintaining a strong focus on service quality and client outcomes. You thrive in complex environments, have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and can confidently balance operational demands with strategic priorities. You are committed to culturally responsive practice and understand the importance of collaborative, multidisciplinary approaches when working with young people who have complex needs.
