Valuation: Tangible Assets – Manager

CFGI, founded in 2000, is a dynamic and fast-growing financial consulting firm, serving as the trusted partner to CFOs and their organizations. We help clients tackle complex challenges across accounting, financial reporting, transactions, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation. We blend deep technical expertise with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach to help the world’s leading companies move forward with confidence. We are actively expanding our Valuation Services practice and seeking experienced professionals to lead tangible asset valuation engagements for public companies, private equity firms, and privately held businesses.

We are seeking a Manager to lead valuation engagements involving real property, personal property, machinery and equipment, and leasehold interests. Managers oversee day-to-day engagement execution, mentor Consultants, collaborate with senior client stakeholders, and deliver valuation analyses supporting financial reporting, tax reporting, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic business decisions.

What you might expect

  • Lead valuation engagements involving real property, personal property, machinery and equipment, and leasehold interests for financial reporting and tax purposes.
  • Perform and review valuation analyses related to business combinations (ASC 805), fair value measurements (ASC 820), goodwill impairment testing (ASC 350), and tax reporting.
  • Lead purchase price allocations by valuing tangible assets across a broad range of industries in both domestic and international markets.
  • Perform and review real estate market research, comparable market analyses, and outreach to brokers, appraisers, and other market participants.
  • Prepare and review valuation reports, technical memoranda, financial analyses, exhibits, and executive-level client deliverables.
  • Coordinate engagement activities across business valuation, complex securities valuation, accounting advisory, client management, and third-party advisors.
  • Manage multiple concurrent engagements while overseeing project timelines, budgets, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Mentor Consultants through technical review, coaching, and professional development.
  • Participate in proposal development, recruiting, client relationship management, and business development initiatives.

What you must have

  • 5-9 years of experience performing tangible asset, real estate, machinery and equipment, or appraisal valuation analyses.
  • Experience leading valuation engagements supporting financial reporting, tax reporting, mergers and acquisitions, or strategic transactions.

What sets you apart

  • Experience applying ASC 805, ASC 350, ASC 820, or other fair value guidance.
  • Experience leading valuations of real property, machinery and equipment, leasehold interests, or other tangible assets.
  • Strong understanding of accepted valuation methodologies, including the cost, market, and income approaches.
  • Experience performing real estate market analyses, comparable sales analyses, highest and best use assessments, and appraisal-related research.
  • Strong financial modeling and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with a Big 4 firm, commercial real estate brokerage, appraisal firm, valuation advisory practice, or specialized valuation consulting firm.
  • Experience leading engagement teams, mentoring junior professionals, managing multiple workstreams, and serving as a primary point of contact for client stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Appraisal Institute (MAI), American Society of Appraisers (ASA), or active progress toward a professional appraisal credential.
  • Experience preparing technical valuation reports, memoranda, and executive-level client deliverables.
  • Exposure to purchase price allocations, private equity transactions, IPOs, or complex transaction environments.

Who thrives here

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, adaptable, ethical, and dependable.
  • High energy with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service while mentoring and developing junior team members.
