About the role

About Nebius

Nebius is leading a new era in cloud infrastructure for the global AI economy. We are building a full-stack AI cloud platform that supports developers and enterprises from data and model training through to production deployment, without the cost and complexity of building large in-house AI/ML infrastructure.

Built by engineers, for engineers. From large-scale GPU orchestration to inference optimization, we own the hard problems across compute, storage, networking and applied AI.

Listed on Nasdaq (NBIS) and headquartered in Amsterdam, we have a global footprint with R&D hubs across Europe, the UK, North America and Israel. Our team of 1,500+ includes hundreds of engineers with deep expertise across hardware, software and AI R&D.

Summary

Location: Amsterdam

Duration: 3 months

Start date: Winter 2027

Compensation: Paid

Eligibility: Current University student (Computer Science or related field), Recent Graduate or Early Career specialist

Work authorization: Permitted to work in the job's location

The role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join us as a part of Early Talent Program. You will work alongside experienced engineers, learn how high-performance backend systems are designed and operated, and contribute code that runs in real environments used by customers worldwide. You will get hands-on experience with distributed systems, workflow orchestration and engineering best practices in a team working at the cutting edge of AI cloud infrastructure.

The team

The Compute Control Plane team builds the core of the Nebius cloud: the Compute API, through which every VM, disk, snapshot and GPU cluster is created. The service manages 50K+ resources across 10+ regions and coordinates with storage, networking, quotas, billing and IAM, handling long-running operations and hardware failures along the way. We work in Go, gRPC, Temporal and Kubernetes.

Current projects include snapshots, live VM updates, resource reservation, rate limiting and protection against cascading failures. Our engineers own their features end-to-end, from design to production.

We expect you to have

  • Knowledge of at least one programming language (Go is a must)
  • Understanding of basic algorithms and data structures
  • Strong motivation to learn, grow and develop as a backend engineer
  • Willingness to work with complex systems and ask questions

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
  • Mentorship from experienced AI, ML and cloud infrastructure professionals
  • Hands-on experience with real customer workloads and production systems
  • Opportunities for professional growth within Nebius
  • A dynamic and collaborative work environment that values initiative and innovation
  • Opportunity to be considered for a full-time role after the Early Talent Program

We conduct coding interviews as part of the process.
