About the role

The Role

T1 Energy is looking to hire a Senior Training & Onboarding Manager to lead the development and execution of world-class training programs at our 5 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Wilmer, Texas. This is a high-impact role at the heart of our operations; you'll build the systems, content, and culture that get people up to speed fast and keep them performing at their best. Solar or advanced manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and continuously improve onboarding and training programs for production floor operators, technicians, and new manufacturing hires across all shifts.
  • Partner with plant leadership, engineering, and HSE teams to identify training gaps and develop role-specific competency frameworks tied to production quality and safety standards.
  • Develop and manage a train-the-trainer program to scale learning capacity across the facility as we grow headcount.
  • Create and maintain standard work documentation, SOPs, visual aids, and e-learning content for solar module assembly processes, equipment operation, and quality control procedures.
  • Track training completion, certification status, and time-to-proficiency metrics; report on program effectiveness and continuously iterate based on data and feedback.
  • Lead new employee orientation and ensure a smooth, consistent onboarding experience that reflects T1 Energy's culture and operational expectations from day one.
  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS), assign training curricula, and maintain accurate employee training records to support audit and compliance readiness.

Who You Are

  • A builder. You've created training programs from scratch in fast-moving manufacturing environments, not just inheriting someone else's playbook.
  • Deeply familiar with the production floor. You know what good looks like in a high-volume manufacturing operation and you can translate technical processes into training that sticks.
  • A strong communicator who can work with frontline workers, engineers, and executives equally well, and who earns trust quickly across all levels.
  • Data-driven. You set measurable goals for your programs, track outcomes, and aren't satisfied with training for training's sake; you care about performance impact.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change. T1 is growing fast; our processes evolve, and you'll need to keep pace and help others do the same.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing training, workforce development, or L&D, with at least 3 years in a senior or management-level role.
  • Proven track record building or scaling training programs in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment (automotive, semiconductor, solar, electronics, or similar industries).
  • Solar manufacturing experience is strongly preferred; familiarity with module assembly processes, lamination, stringing, or related equipment is a significant plus.
  • Experience designing adult learning programs using instructional design best practices (ADDIE, SAM, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency with LMS platforms and e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Workday Learning, Cornerstone, Articulate 360, or similar).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred given our workforce demographics.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent hands-on experience.

About T1 Energy

At T1 Energy (NYSE: TE), we build energy. We are an American solar manufacturer building the future of energy abundance. From our headquarters in Austin, Texas, we’re pioneering a domestic solar supply chain with one mission: to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy.

We started with G1_Dallas, one of the most advanced solar manufacturing facilities in the world. The 5GW facility is located in Wilmer, Texas. It has the capacity to produce more than 20,000 solar modules a day for solar farms that power American homes, businesses, and keep our energy grids resilient.

Next is G2_Austin: Our new solar cell fab in Rockdale, Texas. Its first 2.1GW phase is designed to produce next-generation TOPCon cells beginning in 2027. As the fab grows, it’s expected to support up to 1,800 manufacturing jobs. Modules assembled at G1 can run on cells from G2.

What comes after G2? Come join us and help figure that out. And then build it. The sun has always shone on America. Now you can turn it into abundant electricity.

The T1 Way

We’re all in on the mission, and we pursue it as one team. We move fast, own our results, and treat each other with respect. Egos stay at the door: no one is too senior to roll up their sleeves, and no idea is too small to share. Be sharp, be honest, be human. If you can hold the line and keep a sense of humor, you’ll fit right in.

T1 Energy is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and applicants and do not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected characteristics.
