About the role

The Role

T1 Energy is looking to hire a Senior Manufacturing Maintenance Manager who is responsible for leading equipment reliability and maintenance operations within a high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing environment supporting more than 1,500 pieces of production equipment and leading a team of more than 100 employees. This role ensures maximum uptime, operational stability, and long-term asset performance while aligning with plant safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

This position requires a strong leader capable of building and developing high-performing teams across multiple shifts. The Senior Manufacturing Maintenance Manager will drive reliability strategy, structured maintenance systems, computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) optimization, workforce planning, safety compliance (including lockout/tagout (LOTO) governance), budget control, and continuous improvement initiatives to sustain operational excellence.

The ideal candidate combines strategic leadership with disciplined execution, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, safety, and continuous improvement. This role partners closely with EHS, Production, Process Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure equipment capability supports plant capacity and long-term growth.

What You’ll Do

Reliability Strategy & Asset Management

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive reliability strategy for 24/7 operations. Drive improvements in equipment uptime, lifecycle management, and long-term asset sustainability.

CMMS Leadership & Maintenance Planning

  • Own and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Ensure accurate asset hierarchy, preventive maintenance scheduling, work order discipline, data integrity, and reporting accuracy. Use CMMS data to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.

Maintenance Systems & Execution

  • Establish and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime. Standardize planning and scheduling processes to ensure high schedule compliance and accountability.

Safety & LOTO Governance

  • Champion a safety-first culture across all maintenance activities. Ensure full compliance with OSHA standards, including the consistent understanding and enforcement of LOTO procedures across the team. Lead periodic LOTO audits, training, and continuous improvement of energy control programs.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop supervisors, planners, engineers, and technicians. Build organizational capability in reliability practices, maintenance planning, and safe work execution. Establish clear performance expectations and succession planning.

Performance Management & KPI Ownership

  • Own and report key performance indicators, including OEE, downtime, MTBF, MTTR, maintenance cost, PM compliance, and work order backlog. Use structured root cause analysis and reliability tools to drive measurable improvement.

Budget & Cost Control

  • Develop and manage the maintenance operating budget. Control labor, spare parts, contractor services, and capital expenditures while ensuring equipment reliability and safety standards are maintained.

Spare Parts & Inventory Strategy

  • Establish a critical spare parts strategy aligned with production risk and asset criticality. Optimize inventory levels to balance reliability and working capital efficiency.

Capital Projects & Equipment Readiness

  • Support installation, ramp-up, and stabilization of new production lines and major upgrades. Ensure maintenance readiness through training, documentation, and CMMS integration.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with EHS, Production, Process Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to align equipment performance with operational targets and production planning.

Who You Are

  • Experience leading maintenance teams in 24/7 operations
  • Strong experience implementing and managing CMMS platforms
  • Demonstrated ownership of LOTO programs and safety compliance
  • Proven track record improving uptime, reliability, and maintenance performance
  • Experience managing large equipment portfolios (1,500+ assets preferred)
  • Experience managing budgets and performance metrics

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or equipment engineering within a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • 3–5+ years in a leadership or management role
  • Experience leading maintenance teams in 24/7 operations
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
  • OSHA 30 Certification

About T1 Energy

At T1 Energy (NYSE: TE), we build energy. We are an American solar manufacturer building the future of energy abundance. From our headquarters in Austin, Texas, we’re pioneering a domestic solar supply chain with one mission: to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy.

We started with G1_Dallas, one of the most advanced solar manufacturing facilities in the world. The 5GW facility is located in Wilmer, Texas. It has the capacity to produce more than 20,000 solar modules a day for solar farms that power American homes, businesses, and keep our energy grids resilient.

Next is G2_Austin: Our new solar cell fab in Rockdale, Texas. Its first 2.1GW phase is designed to produce next-generation TOPCon cells beginning in 2027. As the fab grows, it’s expected to support up to 1,800 manufacturing jobs. Modules assembled at G1 can run on cells from G2.

What comes after G2? Come join us and help figure that out. And then build it. The sun has always shone on America. Now you can turn it into abundant electricity.

The T1 Way

We’re all in on the mission, and we pursue it as one team. We move fast, own our results, and treat each other with respect. Egos stay at the door: no one is too senior to roll up their sleeves, and no idea is too small to share. Be sharp, be honest, be human. If you can hold the line and keep a sense of humor, you’ll fit right in.
