About the role

About QLeave

QLeave is a statutory authority administering portable long service leave schemes for workers in the building and construction, contract cleaning, and community services industries. With over $2.5 billion in funds under management, we ensure that Queensland's workers receive the benefits they've earned. Our commitment to strong governance, accountability, and service excellence underpins everything we do.

About the Role

As a Senior Investigator, you will undertake complex desktop and field-based investigations into suspected breaches of portable long service leave legislation. You will analyse evidence, interpret and apply legislation, prepare high-quality court briefs, reports and recommendations for senior decision-makers, build strong stakeholder relationships, and support consistent and effective enforcement outcomes.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct predominately desktop investigations into alleged legislative breaches, gathering, analysing and assessing evidence. When required, undertake field-based activities including interviews, witness statement collection, service of statutory notices, and preparation of evidentiary and court documentation.
  • Exercise authorised officer powers under the portable long service leave legislation.
  • Lead complex research and investigative reviews, preparing high-quality reports and documentation for senior leaders, executive leadership and the General Manager.
  • Provide expert advice on portable long service leave matters and relevant legislation, supporting voluntary compliance initiatives, stakeholder education and industry engagement.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of enforcement strategies, procedures and operational practices to enhance team effectiveness and compliance outcomes.

For a complete list of the role responsibilities, please refer to the role description.
