  • Investigate differences between operational systems and the general ledger and ensure product, delivery, installation, freight, and related costs are properly recorded.
  • Partner with Accounting, Operations, and Purchasing to resolve inventory and costing issues.

Process Improvement & Technology

  • Use Excel, AI-enabled tools, and other technology to streamline accounting processes, strengthen controls, and reduce manual work.
  • Maintain clear procedures, supporting documentation, and organized workpapers.
  • Support accounting-system improvements and special projects assigned by the Controller.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP or similar functions, SUMIFS, logical formulas, and analysis of large datasets.
  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems and comfort using AI-enabled productivity tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with accuracy, ownership, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across Accounting, Operations, Purchasing, Sales, customers, and vendors.

Preferred

  • Three to five or more years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multi-location, retail, distribution, construction, or inventory-intensive environment.
  • Experience with inventory accounting, job costing, cost of goods sold, AP/AR support, financial reporting, variance analysis, and process or system improvements.

Key Competencies

  • Strong accounting judgment; analytical, detail-oriented, organized, and dependable.
  • Demonstrates ownership, follow-through, and the ability to independently research discrepancies.
  • Collaborative and professional, with a customer-service mindset when working with internal teams, customers, and vendors.
