About the role

Performing critical work that impacts our industry and our world’s health while problem solving and innovating in the field – that is what Scientists at KCAS Bio get to do every day. If that gets you excited too, then maybe working as a Scientist at KCAS Bio is the role for you.

When you work as a Scientist III in the Mass Spec Bioanalysis Production group at KCAS, you get to further our mission by leveraging your advanced knowledge of bioanalytical and scientific principles to independently execute and oversee complex LC-MS/MS sample analysis activities. You will apply your technical expertise to troubleshoot analytical challenges, evaluate data integrity, support study timelines, and provide scientific guidance to junior staff while ensuring compliance with established methods, laboratory procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Our Mass Spec Bioanalysis Production team uses LC-MS/MS (Liquid Chromatography–Tandem Mass Spectrometry) techniques and established bioanalytical methods to perform sample analysis in support of preclinical and clinical studies. Our work focuses on generating accurate, reliable, and high-quality bioanalytical data while maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and laboratory procedures.

In this role, we will rely on you to

  • Execute and take ownership of key study components including sample preparation, LC-MS/MS analysis, troubleshooting, data analysis, and documentation
  • Contribute to method development, qualification, and optimization efforts
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and recommend solutions
  • Analyze and interpret data with minimal oversight
  • Prepare data summaries and contribute to report generation
  • Ensure compliance of study activities with pertinent portions of study protocol, SOPs & regulatory requirements
  • Communicate study progress to senior scientists and management as required
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior scientific staff
  • Perform all aspects of the job in a way that supports company brand and supports company mission, vision, and values

To qualify specifically for this role, you will have

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or chemical/biochemical engineering, or related field with at least 4–6 years of experience with LC-MS/MS
  • Strong experience with bioanalytical sample preparation, quantitative LC-MS/MS, and multi-dimensional chromatography
  • Experience contributing to method development, qualification, and complex troubleshooting
  • Experience with proteins and peptides as well as small molecule biomarkers is preferred
  • Experience with reversed phase and HILIC chromatography at analytical flow rates or protein digestions and immunoaffinity enrichments (hybrid LCMS) is a plus
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (GLP/GxP)

Depending on your background and qualifications, we may consider hiring you for one of three levels of Scientist roles at KCAS Bio. This will be determined during the interview process.
