About the role

Your mission should you choose to accept it...

At The Social Hub, we're redefining hospitality by creating vibrant spaces where travelers, students, professionals and locals connect, work, stay and grow together. We're looking for an ambitious Rooms Operations Management Trainee to join our team in Barcelona. This is a structured 8–12 month development programme designed for hospitality students in their third year of studies or above who are ready to gain hands-on operational experience and prepare for their first leadership role. If you're passionate about people, operations and creating memorable guest experiences, this programme will give you the opportunity to develop the skills, confidence and business knowledge needed to succeed in hotel operations.

In case you don’t know who we are (ahem)

Known for being the rule breakers in hospitality, TSH is a fun, creative and inspiring environment where everyone can work, stay, learn and play and most importantly – be themselves. As an employer we look, act and think like a hotel, but instead we offer a lot more. Think student accommodation, long and short stay options, gyms, talks, events, rooftop bar and eat & drink escapes as well as community and coworking spaces. Located in The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and UK with several new openings on the way, this hybrid hospitality concept may take root in the heart of Europe, but our plans are set for going global.

What You'll Do

Throughout the programme, you'll rotate across our Front Office and Housekeeping departments, working alongside experienced leaders and gaining exposure to the day-to-day management of one of our largest hubs.

Front Office Operations

  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences throughout the guest journey.
  • Learn the daily operation of a busy Front Office.
  • Manage guest requests, service recovery and problem-solving.
  • Coordinate arrivals, departures and room allocations.
  • Support upselling initiatives and revenue opportunities.
  • Participate in daily operational briefings and shift leadership.

Housekeeping Operations

  • Learn how to manage room inventory and productivity.
  • Conduct room quality inspections.
  • Coordinate room readiness with Front Office.
  • Monitor cleanliness and brand standards.
  • Support preventive maintenance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with external contractors and suppliers.

Leadership & Hotel Operations

  • Participate in management meetings.
  • Learn workforce planning and operational scheduling.
  • Analyse operational KPIs and guest satisfaction.
  • Support departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Food & Beverage, Membership and Events teams to understand the full hotel operation.
  • Take ownership of projects that improve efficiency and the guest experience.

What you'll learn

By the end of the programme, you'll have developed practical experience in:

  • Front Office Operations
  • Housekeeping Operations
  • Team Leadership
  • Guest Experience Management
  • Quality & Brand Standards
  • Revenue Awareness
  • Operational Planning
  • Hotel Performance & KPIs
  • Cross-department collaboration
  • Project Management

Most importantly, you'll have developed the operational and leadership skills expected from a Front Office Supervisor, Housekeeping Supervisor or Duty Manager, preparing you for your first management opportunity in hospitality.

Who You Are

We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys taking responsibility and wants to build a long-term career in hospitality.

  • Currently studying Hospitality Management, Tourism or a related degree.
  • In your 3rd year of studies or above.
  • Available for a minimum of 8 months (12 months preferred).
  • Fluent in English & Spanish is a must.
  • Passionate about hospitality and guest experience.
  • Curious, proactive and solution-oriented.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ready to challenge yourself and grow into a leadership role.

What We Offer

  • An amazing work environment with a fantastic vibe and lots of positive energy.
  • On the job coaching and guidance.
  • Monthly compensation for your internship.
  • The opportunity to work and learn at a dynamic, young, international organisation; we’re a real game changer in the hospitality industry. The opportunity to work for a Certified B Corp® company that balances profit with positive impact, collaborating with organizations like Movement on the Ground and the TSH Talent Foundation to create meaningful change
  • A first glimpse into the world of Hospitality with one of the most innovative players in the market.
  • Access to the amazing TSH facilities, including our awesome restaurant and gym. And did we mention you also get a discount on Hotel stays and Food and Drinks?
  • A wonderful workplace to call home with, dare we say it, fun colleagues.

Who you are, is how we want you to be. To us, hybrid hospitality goes across the board, from how we service our guests to how we represent ourselves. Here, everyone belongs, and we welcome people no matter their nationality, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion or culture. Your authenticity keeps our team diverse. Come as you are.
