About the role

Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It

Ready to take the next step in your hospitality career? As Deputy General Manager at The Social Hub in Barcelona, you’ll spend a structured development programme learning what it takes to run an entire hotel and community under one roof. You’ll take ownership of different areas of the business, from operations and guest experience to finance, food and beverage, and people management. With guidance from your General Manager, you’ll turn what you learn into real results, lead teams and discover where your strengths make the biggest difference. You won’t just be watching from the sidelines: you’ll be making decisions, tackling challenges and building the skills to lead a whole operation. It’s a hands-on opportunity to grow into a well-rounded hospitality leader. Ready to see what you’re capable of?

In Case You Don’t Know Who We Are

Known for being the rule breakers in hospitality, TSH is a fun, creative and inspiring environment where everyone can work, stay, learn and play and most importantly – be themselves. As an employer we look, act and think like a hotel, but instead we offer a lot more. Think student accommodation, long and short stay options, gyms, talks, events, rooftop bar and eat & drink escapes as well as community and coworking spaces. Located in The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, and the UK, with several new openings on the way, this hybrid hospitality concept may take root in the heart of Europe, but our plans are set for going global.

What You’ll Do

  • Take ownership of different areas of the business throughout your development year, building towards leading the entire operation.
  • Improve business performance by spotting opportunities to grow revenue, manage costs and deliver better results.
  • Work with your General Manager on budgets, forecasts and investment plans, using data to guide your decisions.
  • Lead teams and support colleagues in their development, building a culture where people feel valued and take responsibility.
  • Improve the guest and member experience by listening to feedback and turning it into practical action.
  • Work across hotel operations, food and beverage, events, memberships and shared spaces to create one connected experience.
  • Build relationships with local businesses, community partners and the wider hospitality network.
  • Take the lead on the full operation during a dedicated six-week period without your General Manager, demonstrating your readiness for the next step.

What You’ll Have

  • You have experience leading a hospitality department or business area, ideally with responsibility for a team, budget and business results.
  • You understand how revenue, costs and profitability work, and feel comfortable using numbers to make decisions.
  • You bring a hands-on leadership style and know how to motivate people, give feedback and build trust.
  • You enjoy improving the way things work and can turn ideas into practical results.
  • You have a genuine interest in the full hospitality business, beyond just one department or function.
  • You bring a guest-first mindset and understand the importance of creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for both guests and colleagues.
  • You’re ready to learn, take on new challenges and work towards becoming a General Manager. A degree in hospitality management, business administration or a related field is a plus.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to work at a dynamic, multi-national company. Not just another hotel - we’re a game changing innovator, challenging every convention and defining the future
  • The opportunity to work for a Certified B Corp® company that balances profit with positive impact, collaborating with organizations like Movement on the Ground and the TSH Talent Foundation to create meaningful change
  • The chance to learn and grow in your role with the potential for future growth
  • Awesome discounts in all our properties in Europe and not just for you, but also for your friends and family!
  • A wonderful workplace to call home, full of events, fun colleagues and all the other amazing salary/benefits stuff

At The Social Hub, we believe pay should be fair and consistent. That's why we carefully determine your starting salary based on the role, your assessed proficiency, and our salary framework. We make our best and fairest offer upfront, so we don't negotiate salaries. Because fairness shouldn’t depend on who negotiates best.

Who you are, is how we want you to be. To us, hybrid hospitality goes across the board, from how we service our guests to how we represent ourselves. Here, everyone belongs, and we welcome people no matter their nationality, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion or culture. Your authenticity keeps our team diverse. Come as you are.
