About the role

WHY JOIN ALO?

Mindful movement. It’s at the core of why we do what we do at ALO—it’s our calling. Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living. It changes who yogis are off the mat, making their lives and their communities better. That’s the real meaning of studio-to-street: taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into practice in life.

OVERVIEW

ALO is seeking a highly motivated Retail Business Analyst to support business planning across our growing retail store portfolio. This role will translate financial, sales, and operational data into actionable insights that inform store-level decisions and broader retail strategy.

Working closely with Retail Operations, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Real Estate, and Planning, the Retail Business Analyst will support forecasting, evaluate business performance, and identify opportunities to improve productivity and profitability. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with sound business judgment and the ability to communicate clear recommendations to cross-functional partners and senior leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support retail sales forecasting and business planning by analyzing historical performance, seasonality, and key business drivers.
  • Evaluate sales, operating expenses, and store profitability to identify performance drivers and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain reporting on key retail metrics, including sales, traffic, conversion, and profitability.
  • Analyze actual results against budgets, forecasts, and prior-year performance, providing clear explanations of variances and recommended actions.
  • Identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities at the store, regional, and retail portfolio levels.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Real Estate, Planning, and Retail Operations to inform business decisions and evaluate retail initiatives.
  • Deliver timely, accurate analyses in response to business questions from retail teams and senior leadership.
  • Present findings through concise reports, visualizations, and presentations that translate complex data into clear business recommendations.
  • Improve reporting tools and analytical processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and visibility into retail performance

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 3–4 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, corporate or operations finance, consulting, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in retail, apparel, or consumer businesses preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret large data sets, structure ambiguous problems, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships across functions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial and operational insights to non-financial audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability, initiative, and sound judgment when responding to evolving business needs.
