About the role

WHY JOIN ALO?

Mindful movement. It’s at the core of why we do what we do at ALO—it’s our calling. Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living. It changes who yogis are off the mat, making their lives and their communities better. That’s the real meaning of studio-to-street: taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into practice in life.

OVERVIEW

At Alo, our focus is on our associate culture, customer promise, quality, and safety. The Printer Technician supports print-on-demand (POD) production and fulfillment operations by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production printers, related equipment, and automated material handling systems. Working independently or with minimal guidance, this role helps maintain equipment reliability, print quality, and daily volume output while minimizing disruptions to production.

The Printer Technician serves as an onsite technical resource, coordinates maintenance with Operations and Facilities, and applies an understanding of equipment performance, product flow, and production priorities to resolve issues safely and efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and controls issues affecting production printers, related machinery, and automated material handling equipment using technical drawings, equipment manuals, and diagnostic tools.
  • Respond promptly to equipment issues that affect daily workflow or volume output; communicate downtime, repair status, and expected return to service to Operations and Facilities.
  • Perform equipment audits, preventive maintenance, cleaning, adjustments, component replacement, and repairs according to manufacturer guidance and established safety and quality procedures.
  • Troubleshoot print production issues, including equipment faults and print quality concerns; coordinate with production staff and vendors when specialized software or technical support is needed.
  • Support equipment installation, testing, modifications, and upgrades; verify safe operation and production readiness following maintenance or repairs.
  • Maintain and repair three-phase electrical systems up to 480 VAC, and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low-voltage controls, and external input/output (I/O) devices within authorized scope.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain conveyor, sortation, and other fulfillment equipment; assist technicians and mechanics with complex repairs as needed.
  • Complete work orders and maintenance records, documenting diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and recurring issues in written or computer-based systems.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance around production needs, identify recurring equipment failures, and recommend improvements that reduce downtime and support department goals.
  • Maintain company-supplied tools and an organized maintenance area; participate in cleaning equipment and conveyor systems as appropriate.
  • Provide general facility maintenance support, including lighting, plumbing, electrical repairs, and furniture relocation, and perform other related duties assigned by management.
  • Follow established safe work practices, including lockout/tagout, use of protective equipment, and procedures for elevated work and access to tight or confined spaces.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five to ten years of related experience in mechanical and technical troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and/or equipment installation.
  • Associate of Applied Science degree in an engineering-related field, or equivalent relevant experience, including military service. High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with three-phase systems up to 480 VAC, low-voltage controls, and PLCs.
  • Experience or working knowledge of conveyor and/or sortation systems, preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment installation, and modification or upgrade support.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals, use diagnostic tools, and work independently or with minimal guidance to resolve equipment problems.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions in English; basic math skills to maintain accurate inventory and maintenance records.
  • Understanding of safe maintenance practices, including lockout/tagout, and willingness and ability to obtain required certification to operate powered industrial equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize production-critical repairs, communicate effectively with Operations and Facilities, and adjust work hours when maintenance or repair needs require it.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with printing equipment, industrial machinery, and/or robotics that supports mechanical diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Print production experience, including raster image processor (RIP) software, printer maintenance and repair, and color management.
  • Related technical certifications or licenses, such as Journeyman or Master Electrician, Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT).
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens products, and network troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience coordinating with outside vendors, customers, and business partners.
  • Previous experience in fulfillment, manufacturing, or a similar production environment, and familiarity with facility software, platforms, and systems.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform diagnostics and repairs in tight or confined spaces as needed, following established access and safety procedures.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and grasping; ability to climb stairs and work at heights of 40 feet or more using appropriate safety equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and push or pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds, using appropriate equipment and safe handling methods.
  • Ability to read fine print and technical information, receive and understand verbal instructions, and use tools requiring hand-eye coordination.
  • Work in a warehouse and production environment, including occasional exposure to extreme temperatures; safely use manual and powered equipment to move materials.

Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; schedule adjustments may be required for repairs, maintenance, and operational needs, including weekends or holidays as necessary.
