The Role

T1 Energy is looking to hire an In-Process Quality Assurance (IPQA) Inspector. Operating directly on the production floor and in the laboratory, you will monitor manufacturing line compliance, execute standard sample testing, and safeguard product integrity against technical specifications. This position reports directly to the Quality Supervisor and plays a critical role in ensuring our high-volume solar module manufacturing meets rigorous corporate and Quality Management System (QMS) standards.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct routine quality inspections and audits on the production line to ensure compliance with T1 Energy’s QMS and technical specifications.
  • Perform various lab tests on in-process samples (e.g., tensile strength, chemical tests) in accordance with the sampling plan.
  • Identify, isolate, and properly label non-conforming products and materials.
  • Read and interpret technical documents and specifications.
  • Operate and maintain precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Prepare and process samples as required for laboratory testing.
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of lab equipment and inspection tools.
  • Record inspection results accurately and enter data into the quality management database/system.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Support other quality-related tasks and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), sampling procedures, and material handling.
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory and inspection techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and blueprints.
  • Skilled in using inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with unit conversions and technical measurements.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods during 12-hour shifts.
  • Must have visual acuity to distinguish colors and fine details (close vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus).
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness and ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends when necessary.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of a 12-hour shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

About T1 Energy

At T1 Energy (NYSE: TE), we build energy. We are an American solar manufacturer building the future of energy abundance. From our headquarters in Austin, Texas, we’re pioneering a domestic solar supply chain with one mission: to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy.

We started with G1_Dallas, one of the most advanced solar manufacturing facilities in the world. The 5GW facility is located in Wilmer, Texas. It has the capacity to produce more than 20,000 solar modules a day for solar farms that power American homes, businesses, and keep our energy grids resilient.

Next is G2_Austin: Our new solar cell fab in Rockdale, Texas. Its first 2.1GW phase is designed to produce next-generation TOPCon cells beginning in 2027. As the fab grows, it’s expected to support up to 1,800 manufacturing jobs. Modules assembled at G1 can run on cells from G2.

What comes after G2? Come join us and help figure that out. And then build it. The sun has always shone on America. Now you can turn it into abundant electricity.

The T1 Way

We’re all in on the mission, and we pursue it as one team. We move fast, own our results, and treat each other with respect. Egos stay at the door: no one is too senior to roll up their sleeves, and no idea is too small to share. Be sharp, be honest, be human. If you can hold the line and keep a sense of humor, you’ll fit right in.

T1 Energy is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and applicants and do not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected characteristics.
