About the role

Why Work with Us

Seven Research is a quantitative research and technology company, uniting passionate individuals with state-of-the-art resources to tackle complex problems in the global markets. Our systematic approach emphasizes technical rigor, creativity, and long-term performance. Our people are our core advantage.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a HR Manager to manage day-to-day HR operations, improve existing processes, and build scalable people programs that support recruiting, employee development, and a high-performing, collaborative work environment.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on HR Manager with experience working in a startup, quantitative finance firm, investment firm, or similarly fast-paced organization.

In this role, you will manage day-to-day HR operations while helping build and improve the people processes needed as the company grows. You will work closely with leadership and hiring managers to support recruiting, onboarding, employee development, and overall employee experience.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, analytical, and comfortable managing both everyday HR responsibilities and longer-term projects. You should enjoy working in a small, high-performing team where you can take ownership and make a direct impact.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Administration

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and HR compliance.
  • Develop and improve HR policies, procedures, documentation, and internal processes.
  • Maintain HR systems and coordinate with benefits providers, vendors, and external partners.
  • Identify ways to simplify, automate, and improve HR workflows.

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Partner with hiring managers to support recruiting for technical, research, engineering, and business roles.
  • Coordinate interviews, candidate communications, feedback, and offer processes.
  • Ensure a professional and positive candidate experience.
  • Manage and improve the new-hire onboarding process to help employees integrate quickly and successfully.

Performance Management & Employee Development

  • Coordinate employee performance reviews, feedback processes, and development initiatives.
  • Work with leadership to implement programs that support employee performance, growth, and retention.
  • Help improve employee engagement and the overall employee experience.

HR Reporting & Business Support

  • Track and report key HR metrics, including headcount, hiring activity, employee retention, and performance reviews.
  • Prepare HR reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership.
  • Support additional HR and business operations projects as needed.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a related role.
  • Prior experience working in a startup, quantitative finance firm, investment firm, or fast-paced technology-driven organization.
  • Strong understanding of HR operations, employee lifecycle management, and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail when handling sensitive employee and compensation information.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and willingness to build or improve processes rather than simply follow existing ones

Nice to Have

  • Experience using HR platforms such as Rippling or similar HRIS systems.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems such as Greenhouse.
  • Experience building HR processes in a growing or lean organization.
  • HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR.

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this role is $120,000–$180,000, plus discretionary bonus and benefits. Compensation is determined based on experience and scope of responsibility.
