About the role

We are hiring a Head of Operations

⏰ Start date: ASAP

📍Zürich, Switzerland (on-site, remote not possible)

🦾 Full-time (100%)

Loki Robotics’ mission is to make physical services an abundant commodity for everyone through robotics and physical AI. We build, deploy and operate expert robots with unique capabilities to automate commercial facility services at scale. We believe emergent capabilities in physical AI are unlocked by taking a straight shot to useful, performant robots deployed in the real world. We’re a tight team that takes initiative, operates with agency, and genuinely cares about doing outstanding work.

Your role

Every robot we produce has to be prepared, shipped, deployed, operated, serviced and improved in the field. As Head of Operations, you own that end to end. You are the execution engine that customers and the rest of Loki rely on to make deployments happen, and you build the operations organization that keeps getting better at it: more automated, more productized and spread across more roles and geographies as we scale.

What you will be doing

  • Own deployment implementation: site assessments, customer kick-offs, onsite supervision, staff training, performance assessment and all customer communication along the way
  • Run logistics for every deployment: fulfillment, shipping, import/export, compliance and coordination with the customer’s receiving side
  • Build and run the operations organization: SOPs, scheduling, allocating operator bandwidth across deployments, testing and internal data collection, among others
  • Work with our testing engineers on release, performance and quality assurance testing: reporting procedures, schedules and the bandwidth to execute them
  • Relay what customers and field operations tell you back to product, GTM and R&D
  • Find operations bottlenecks and remove them, whether through a new process, a new hire, a change in structure or by killing a process entirely. Many ops tasks exist because a feature is missing or because that is how it has always been done. Your job is to delete, automate or productize them
  • Hire, onboard and lead the operations team: define roles, onboarding, incentives, internal assessments and the KPIs that steer our operations organization
  • Train partner operators and distributors in deployment operations as we expand

What you should have

  • 5+ years in operations, field deployment, implementation or a comparable role combining management and execution-heavy tasks. You have managed teams for a meaningful part of that experience
  • You have built an operations function at an early-stage company from the ground up, without a support structure already in place for you to consume
  • You have deployed physical products at customer sites: hardware, robotics, automation or industrial equipment. Robotics or facility services is a strong plus
  • You operate across both horizons at once: what has to happen in the next 12 hours and what the org needs to look like in 3 months. You know at any moment what the top priority is and what to delegate
  • You are hands-on. An undefined process, a missing checklist or one overworked colleague is enough for you to act, fixing it for tomorrow and making sure it does not come back
  • You are the best manager in the room. You set clear goals, put people where their strengths accelerate the team and get along with people from all walks of life.
  • You are detail-oriented and think from first principles, and you can turn that into clear, robust processes that others can just follow
  • You take action on a goal without waiting for direction, and ask for help when you need it without letting that block you
  • Excellent communication in English

What we offer

  • Ownership of Loki’s deployment, internal operations and field ops end-to-end
  • The opportunity to build and lead the operations org as we scale across geographies
  • Close partnership with the founders/leadership team
  • Flat hierarchy, quick decision making and real responsibility in executing Loki’s global expansion
  • Be at the forefront of changing how physical services are delivered

Don’t worry if you don’t hit every checkmark. We value people who learn fast and care about building great products. If Loki excites you and you believe you can help us scale, just give it a go and apply.

At Loki, you are accepted for who you are. We welcome applicants of every background, gender, age and nationality. Different experiences and perspectives make our team and our product better.
