We’re working with a respected regional health service just a short drive from Adelaide, situated in a charming town known for its heritage character, excellent schools, and welcoming community.

This role offers a chance to make a genuine impact in a well-resourced public hospital, where the Obstetrics & Gynaecology department plays a central role in community healthcare delivery. You’ll work within a modern, purpose-built maternity unit, joining a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering safe, compassionate, and patient-centred care.

About the Role

As a Consultant GP Obstetrician (or Specialist Obstetrician), you’ll be part of the department’s medical leadership team. You’ll help shape the future of maternity and gynaecology care for the region through clinical excellence, mentorship, and innovation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient obstetrics and gynaecology services.
  • Support the clinical development of junior doctors and the broader multidisciplinary team.
  • Lead and participate in quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives.
  • Ensure the department meets ongoing accreditation and safety standards.

About the Hospital & Community

The hospital services a growing regional population and is part of a well-regarded local health network. The maternity unit offers low-to-moderate risk obstetric care and is staffed by a team of committed GPs, midwives, nurses, and allied health professionals. The hospital’s collaborative culture fosters support, flexibility, and a shared vision for best-practice care.

The surrounding area offers:

  • Affordable living with easy access to Adelaide.
  • Excellent local schooling, sporting, and recreational facilities.
  • A supportive community with a strong family focus.

Ideal Candidate

We’re seeking a candidate who is:

  • A confident and capable GP Obstetrician or Specialist Obstetrician with current AHPRA registration (or eligible).
  • Committed to delivering high-quality, culturally sensitive care.
  • Passionate about working in regional health and mentoring others.
  • A strong communicator and collaborative team member.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive remuneration package including potential private practice arrangements.
  • Relocation assistance and transition support available.
  • Salary packaging options for increased take-home pay.
  • Professional development and generous leave provisions.
  • Work-life balance in a picturesque regional setting.
