Who we are

Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) is a Queensland Government agency that unlocks land and accelerates housing, planning and infrastructure delivery—creating liveable places and enabling economic growth. Our work helps deliver safe, secure and affordable homes and supports thriving communities across the state.

Empowered by the Economic Development Act 2012, EDQ has unique planning and approval powers to help unblock complex projects and bring development-ready land to market. Our purpose is simple: help Queenslanders find a place to call home, create more jobs closer to home, and support liveable communities that reflect Queensland's way of life.

We work across government and with industry to attract investment, enable jobs and deliver projects that make a measurable difference for Queenslanders.

About the Role

Join Economic Development Queensland's Marketing and Engagement team and play a key role in delivering community engagement activities that support development projects, housing supply and liveable communities across Queensland.

  • Plan and deliver stakeholder and community engagement activities across EDQ projects
  • Develop clear, audience-focused engagement materials for a range of communication channels
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, stakeholders and community members
  • Gather and analyse stakeholder feedback to identify community interests, emerging concerns and potential solutions
  • Coordinate community engagement events, including logistics, participant communications and follow-up
  • Manage engagement enquiries, coordinate approved responses and maintain accurate records
  • Contribute to engagement planning, continuous improvement and effective collaboration across the team

About You

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, engaging and audience-appropriate materials
  • Proven ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders, community members and internal teams
