About the role

Critical Care Registrar – Major Regional Health Service

We are seeking Critical Care Registrars (PGY4+) to join a busy, well-resourced ICU team within a major regional trauma retrieval centre.

The Role

You will work as part of a dedicated critical care team providing high-quality, patient-centred care across a 10-bed ICU/HDU service spread across two campuses. You’ll manage a diverse casemix of critically ill adult and occasional paediatric patients under the guidance of experienced ICU consultants.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Direct clinical management and consultation for ICU/HDU patients
  • Active participation in trauma and retrieval cases
  • Contributing to quality assurance and safety initiatives within the department
  • Supporting and mentoring junior doctors
  • Engaging in education and training opportunities to enhance your professional growth

What We Offer

  • Competitive remuneration aligned with state EBA/Award
  • Full-time positions with excellent work-life balance
  • Structured induction, training, and mentorship from senior clinicians
  • Opportunities to be involved in service development and quality improvement projects
  • Access to research opportunities and teaching activities

About You

  • MBBS or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration (or eligibility)
  • PGY4+ with significant experience in critical care (ICU, ED, or anaesthesia)
  • Paediatric and adult clinical exposure preferred
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills

Why This Role?

This is your chance to work in one of the largest regional health services between short flight from Melbourne and Sydney, servicing a population of more than 300,000 people. The health service is undergoing a period of significant growth, including the opening of a state-of-the-art Emergency Department and a brand-new hospital campus in coming years.

Lifestyle Benefits

Enjoy an enviable work-life balance in a vibrant regional centre with easy access to major cities, wine regions, and outdoor adventure activities. This location offers excellent schools, affordable living, and a welcoming community perfect for doctors seeking a supportive environment and room to grow.
