About the role
- Full time role at Visy operating boilers, turbines and DCS systems
- Hands on position - troubleshoot and keep production running safely
- Work a rotation of days and nights and enjoy 5 day weekends!
Working primarily from the control room, the Control Room Technician oversees plant operations, manage process performance, respond to alarms and support continuous production across the mill.
Role Details
- Operate and monitor stock preparation, water treatment and utility systems supporting paper production.
- Manage stock levels, pulping processes, reject streams and fibre recovery.
- Monitor and control boiler, steam, condensate and utility systems.
- Respond to alarms, troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate field-based activities where required.
- Complete plant start-ups, shutdowns, operational logs, KPI checks and isolation verification activities.
- Work closely with production, maintenance and operations teams to support continuous manufacturing.
- Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental and operational procedures.
You'll work 12-hour rotating shifts of days and nights with 4 on, 5 off, 4 on in a close-knit team that values safety, accountability and operational excellence.
What you’ll bring to the team
- Previous trades background.
- Advanced Boiler and Turbine Ticket
- Confined space license and DCS experience are desirable.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
- Experience in a 24/7 heavy manufacturing or processing environment
