About the role

Who we are

In Melbourne, water is essential to our way of life.

As caretakers for Melbourne’s water cycle, and our catchments. We care for water, life, and land throughout Melbourne: both its people and its biodiversity.

Each time you drink from the tap, flush a toilet, or kayak down the Yarra we’re there. Primed and ready, quietly delivering some of the world’s cleanest water for over five million residents and wildlife that call Melbourne home, just as we have for over 130 years.

About the Role

As Change Specialist, you will lead organisational change initiatives across Melbourne Water, partnering with leaders, sponsors and delivery teams to build readiness, support adoption and achieve sustainable business outcomes. You will develop and deliver fit-for-purpose change strategies, assess workforce impacts and risks, coach leaders in effective change sponsorship, and oversee communication, engagement, learning and transition activities. This role is ideal for an experienced change professional who can operate strategically while driving practical delivery in a complex organisational environment.

  • Lead the development and delivery of change strategies, plans and interventions that support successful adoption and achievement of initiative outcomes.
  • Ensure change approaches are proportionate to the scale, complexity and people impact of the initiative.
  • Embed Melbourne Water's change management standards, frameworks and practices in delivery activities.
  • Lead change management activities throughout the initiative lifecycle, from planning and impact assessment through to implementation and adoption.
  • Partner with sponsors, senior leaders and people leaders to build visible and effective leadership of change.
  • Monitor adoption, engagement and transition outcomes, using insights to refine change interventions.
  • Support the embedding and sustainability of new behaviours, processes and ways of working.
  • Actively contribute to the Change Community of Practice and continuous improvement of change tools, standards and practices.
