About the role

About Us

Piermont Bank is a boutique specialty commercial bank focused on serving modern businesses with a digital first approach. As the first cloud native bank launched in the United States, Piermont was built on modern infrastructure that allows us to operate with greater flexibility, efficiency, and scalability than traditional banks.

We combine disciplined commercial banking with innovative technology to deliver value added solutions for small and medium sized businesses and our fintech partners. Our team is dedicated to thoughtful risk management, strong client relationships, and building a bank designed for the future of financial services.

The Role

This is an opportunity to take a highly visible role at the center of Piermont Bank’s growing card-issuing and embedded payments business.

As Card Services – Operations Manager, you’ll help shape and scale the operational infrastructure behind our card programs, working directly with payment networks, processors, fintech partners, and teams across the Bank. You’ll have meaningful ownership of the day-to-day operations that keep card programs running smoothly, from BIN/ICA sponsorship and network requirements to processor management, card lifecycle operations, and program support.

We’re looking for someone who understands how card issuing works behind the scenes and enjoys bringing structure, discipline, and scalability to a fast-moving business. This is an ideal opportunity for a card operations professional who wants to move beyond simply maintaining programs and play an integral role in building and strengthening them as they grow.

Responsibilities

  • Own key aspects of end-to-end card issuing operations, including network onboarding, credential management, certifications, and ongoing program support.
  • Manage BIN/ICA sponsorship activities, including payment network credentials, certifications, reporting, and quarterly network requirements.
  • Serve as a key operational partner to payment networks, card processors, and fintech clients, helping drive timely resolutions and a strong partner experience.
  • Coordinate with third-party card issuing processors across the card lifecycle, including issuance, transaction processing, disputes, chargebacks, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor program and operational performance, identify gaps and opportunities, and develop processes that can scale as our card portfolio grows.
  • Partner closely with Compliance, Risk, Technology, Product, and Client Care to ensure programs operate effectively and meet the Bank’s risk and regulatory expectations.
  • Help troubleshoot complex operational issues by coordinating across networks, processors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support audits, examinations, certifications, and internal reviews related to card operations and payment network requirements.
  • Bring ideas forward. We’re looking for someone who can not only operate the business, but also identify opportunities to make it stronger, smarter, and more efficient.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in card issuing and payment network operations.
  • Hands-on knowledge of BIN/ICA sponsorship, including payment network credentials, certifications, and quarterly reporting requirements.
  • Prior experience working with a card-issuing sponsor bank is required.
  • Experience working directly with payment networks, processors, fintechs, or card program partners.
  • Experience with third-party card issuing processors is strongly preferred.
  • A solid understanding of card lifecycle operations, with exposure to areas such as transaction processing, disputes, chargebacks, settlement, and reconciliation.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a regulated environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-management skills. You’ll interact regularly with payment networks, processors, fintech clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to work effectively across functional teams.

The hiring range for this position is $100,000 to $135,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, vision, 401k, and other benefits.
