Do you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that offers variety, challenge, and the opportunity to make a real difference in your community?

Nigel Hutton MP, State Member for Keppel, is seeking a motivated and digitally savvy casual Assistant Electorate Officer to join the Keppel Electorate Office team. You will play a key role in supporting the Member's work in the community. Ideal candidates will be community‑minded, organised, creative, and confident using digital tools.

The Communications role supports office communications, social media platforms, and media, while also engaging with constituents, supporting events, and providing administrative support.

Your role - Communications

  • Support the Member's communications to the electorate across digital and traditional media, including content planning, creation, scheduling, and community engagement aligned with the Member's priorities and local initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media and the community, including organising and attending events and conducting outreach to constituents and community groups.
  • Support the Members campaigns on local issues and collaborate on statewide campaigns.
  • Provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support.
  • Undertake other duties as required.

What we're looking for - Communications

  • Demonstrated experience designing and managing digital platforms, with a proven record of delivering effective communications and building strong working relationships with local media and key stakeholders.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools such as Vision6, Canva and Adobe programs is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to create high-quality visual content, including photography and the filming, editing and publishing of engaging video content for digital and social media platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to accurately track, follow up and follow through on media and community enquiries.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines while delivering high-quality outcomes with minimal supervision.
  • High levels of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Prior political experience is preferred but not essential; however, an interest in and understanding of the local political environment is required.

This role is more than a job, it is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the Keppel community and help amplify the work of a dedicated Member of Parliament. If you are driven, detail‑oriented, and ready to bring your expertise to a dynamic team, you are encouraged to apply.
