About the Opportunity

Parametrix is seeking multiple entry-level engineers to join our Water/Wastewater team. These positions will support projects involving drinking water and wastewater treatment, reservoirs, pump stations, pipelines and other linear infrastructure, as well as structural and electrical systems supporting water and wastewater facilities.

We are looking for individuals who have recently completed (or will soon complete) a degree in engineering and are excited to build their careers in the water industry. You will work alongside experienced engineers and technical professionals who are committed to mentorship, collaboration, and helping you develop a strong foundation in consulting and project delivery.

Positions will primarily be based in Puyallup or Seattle, Washington, or Portland, Oregon. Depending on team and project needs, opportunities may also be available in Spokane, Washington. We offer flexibility for a hybrid work schedule while prioritizing the in-person collaboration and mentorship that are especially valuable early in your career.

Your Role on the Team

  • Support the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with engineering calculations, technical analyses, reports, design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Contribute to projects involving treatment facilities, reservoirs, pump stations, pipelines, structural systems supporting water and wastewater facilities, and related infrastructure based on team and project needs.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, planners, designers, scientists, and other technical professionals across disciplines.
  • Participate in site visits, field investigations, data collection, and construction support activities.
  • Learn applicable design standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
  • Receive mentorship and progressively take on greater technical and project responsibilities as your skills develop.
  • Build relationships within a supportive, employee-owned culture that values curiosity, initiative, and teamwork.

What You Bring to the Team

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, mechanical, electrical, structural or a related engineering discipline.
  • A strong interest in water and wastewater infrastructure and serving municipal or private clients.
  • Engineer-in-Training certification or plans to pursue it.
  • A collaborative approach to project work and the initiative to take ownership of your tasks, ask questions, share your ideas, seek feedback, follow through, and learn from others.
  • Interest in working on a variety of projects and developing a well-rounded understanding of the water industry.
  • Ability to participate in site visits and fieldwork as project needs require.
