About the role

At Symbos, we partner with Australian businesses to build high-performing offshore teams that create meaningful impact. We combine the right people, technology and ways of working to create connected experiences and long-term opportunities for our people and clients.

About the Client

Our client is an established Australian business operating within the furniture and wholesale sector, with warehousing and distribution forming a key part of its operations.

You will support its Stapylton warehouse and help ensure warehouse systems remain accurate, responsive and reliable throughout day-to-day operations.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Coordinator to provide day-to-day systems support for an Australian warehouse operation.

This is not a traditional warehouse administration role. You will be the go-to person for WMS questions and issues, investigating problems, working through possible causes and following them through to resolution.

You will also support inventory accuracy, reporting and system transactions while keeping the warehouse team informed when an issue affects operations.

What Sets This Role Apart

You will take genuine ownership of WMS support for an Australian operation. Rather than simply processing transactions, you will help solve problems, improve how the system is used and ensure issues do not get lost between teams.

For someone with strong WMS experience who enjoys troubleshooting and working closely with warehouse operations, this is an opportunity to become a trusted point of contact for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day WMS support to warehouse users
  • Investigate system, transaction and inventory issues and follow them through to resolution
  • Troubleshoot problems and coordinate with the appropriate teams when escalation is required
  • Keep warehouse stakeholders updated when system issues affect operations
  • Support inventory reconciliation, data accuracy and operational reporting
  • Assist with inventory transactions and approved stock adjustments in line with internal controls
  • Monitor recurring issues and identify opportunities to improve WMS processes and workflows
  • Support WMS updates, testing and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain clear communication through Teams and email during agreed Australian operating hours

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in WMS support, warehouse systems, inventory control or a similar logistics systems environment
  • Hands-on experience using a Warehouse Management System or ERP platform within warehouse or distribution operations
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
  • Good understanding of inventory movements, reconciliation and warehouse processes
  • Ability to investigate issues independently and follow them through to resolution
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Confidence supporting Australian stakeholders remotely
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of data accuracy
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently and remain responsive during agreed Australian business hours

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Pronto ERP/WMS
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Manhattan, JDA, Navision or a comparable system
  • Experience with WMS testing, system interfaces or user acceptance testing
  • Previous experience supporting Australian or other international operations
  • Experience working in an outsourcing, shared services or offshore environment
  • Exposure to process improvement or warehouse systems optimisation

Who This Role Suits

This role will suit someone who understands how a warehouse operates but is equally comfortable working within systems.

You may currently be a WMS Specialist, WMS Application Support Specialist, Warehouse Systems Coordinator, Inventory Systems Specialist or an experienced warehouse or inventory super-user who has become the person others turn to when something in the system is not working as expected.

Most importantly, you take ownership. When an issue is holding up operations, you investigate it, communicate clearly and stay with it until there is a resolution.

Application Process

Our recruitment process is designed to assess both your WMS capability and how you approach real operational issues.

Shortlisted applicants will complete an initial screening, followed by an interview exploring your WMS experience, troubleshooting approach and ability to support warehouse stakeholders remotely.
