About the role

Powering Great Work

We started as the place to find a trusted trade. Now, as we shape the future of home improvement, we're building the tech to transform that landscape for everyone - better products, smarter data, AI where it actually helps - so trades can spend less time on admin and consumers can find someone they trust, first time. That's Powering Great Work, and it's why every team here exists:

🔧 Trades spend less time on admin and more on winning work and growing their business

🏠 Homeowners get a trusted trade, first time, every time

🚀 We get to build products that change homes and lives across the country

As our next VP Product, you'll shape what Powering Great Work looks like in practice. You'll own product strategy and delivery across consumer experience, tools for tradespeople, marketplace dynamics and AI, reporting directly to the CEO. The foundations are strong. The opportunity ahead is big.

The job, unfiltered

  • Set and own the multi-year product vision and roadmap, turning our growth ambitions into a clear, prioritised strategy the whole business can get behind.
  • Lead, coach and grow all our Product Managers, building a culture of ownership, curiosity and pace so they can do their best work.
  • Drive rigorous prioritisation and planning, balancing short-term commercial impact with long-term platform investment.
  • Lead the use of AI and machine learning across the product, from search and matching to personalisation and automation, and find where it makes a real difference to experience and efficiency.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Engineering, Design, Data and Commercial so product decisions rest on real user needs and real business outcomes.
  • Represent the product function in board and investor conversations, explaining the roadmap, progress and trade-offs clearly and confidently.

The fit

  • A solid background in senior product leadership: you've owned product direction end to end and built strong PM teams from the ground up.
  • Proven experience in a two-sided marketplace or platform business, and a good feel for supply and demand, network effects and what it takes to grow one.
  • Experience building and shipping AI-powered product features from concept to production, with a clear view of where the technology adds value and where it's just noise.
  • Strong commercial sense, and the ability to connect product decisions to revenue, retention and growth.
  • Communication that works as well with a cross-functional team as it does in a boardroom.

(Don't self-select out because you don't tick every box. We'd rather meet you.)

What you get

💰 Competitive salary, annual bonus & equity scheme

🩺 Health, wellbeing and learning support

🚲 Gym membership, Smart Tech Scheme, Cycle Scheme

🎂 Birthday/special day leave, buy & sell holiday scheme

❤️ 1 week's paid charity leave, and more

How this goes

  • Screening call with one of our Talent Acquisition Partners
  • 45-minute interview with our CEO
  • Scenario-based interview with senior leaders across People, Consumer, Technology and Leads (120 minutes, split in two)
  • Final stage: case study presentation and interview with our CEO, Chief People Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer
