About the role

About us

Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility and Central Queensland's principal referral hospital, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical and critical care services, supported by visiting specialists from Queensland's tertiary hospitals. Its modern Cancer Care Unit delivers advanced treatment for local patients, while smaller regional and rural facilities refer patients to Rockhampton for specialist care and investigations.

With strong links to The University of Queensland's Central Queensland Rural Clinical School and CQUniversity, the hospital is committed to developing the next generation of healthcare professionals. Its active Medical Education Unit and registrar training programs support a strong focus on growing and retaining the region's medical workforce.

  • Eligibility for a Visiting Specialist or Visiting Senior Specialist appointment, including registration under the National Law and ongoing private practice costs.
