About the role
At VERG Brooklyn, veterinary technician students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one of New York's leading 24/7 emergency and specialty veterinary hospitals. For more than 20 years, VERG has been a trusted lifeline for pets and their families, providing advanced emergency and specialty care while maintaining the warmth and compassion of a neighborhood animal hospital.
Veterinary Technician Externs are exposed to a wide variety of emergency, critical care, and specialty cases while working alongside experienced veterinary technicians, emergency clinicians, and board-certified specialists. Students have the opportunity to observe and participate in many aspects of patient care, diagnostics, treatment support, and specialty services in a fast-paced, collaborative learning environment.
As a Fear Free Certified Veterinary Practice, VERG Brooklyn is committed to providing exceptional medical care while ensuring pets feel safe and comfortable throughout their visit. Through mentorship, advanced clinical exposure, and real-world experience, externs can strengthen their technical skills, build confidence, and gain valuable insight into the teamwork and expertise required to deliver high-quality emergency and specialty veterinary medicine.
At VERG Brooklyn, every pet matters, every second counts, and every learning opportunity helps prepare the next generation of veterinary technicians for success in the field.
