About the role

Veterinary Surgeon - Bognor Regis

Salary up to £75,000 DOE / Relocation Allowance up to £5,000

Advanced diagnostics. Complex medical and surgical cases. A team of certificate holders who enjoy collaborating.

At Downland Veterinary Group, we're looking for a clinically driven Veterinary Surgeon to join our experienced West Sussex team.

The role offers variety across our West Sussex practices, combining the support and wider clinical exposure of working within our larger Bognor team, including emergency cases and inpatient care, with the autonomy of sole-charge work at our smaller clinics. The balance can be flexible, depending on your preferences and we're happy to discuss different working patterns to find the right fit.

You'll have access to advanced imaging and endoscopy, supporting both medical and surgical cases. Whether you're looking to consolidate your experience or continue developing your clinical interests, you'll be joining a team where collaboration, clinical curiosity and high standards of patient care matter.

As part of inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

Practice Highlights

  • Experienced team of around 30 Veterinary Surgeons, supported by 70 nurses and 50 support colleagues across the group.
  • Certificate holders in surgery, medicine, cardiology and imaging, with wider clinical interests including dermatology, oncology, emergency and critical care, and dentistry.
  • Excellent facilities, including digital and dental X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, surgical theatres and in-house laboratory.
  • Flexible working options
  • Established practice group, serving West Sussex since 1947, with clinics in Bognor, Chichester, Selsey and Barnham.
  • Great location close to the South Coast and South Downs, with easy access to London and Gatwick.

How You’ll Make a Difference

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
  • A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development
