About the role

Rhyd Broughton Veterinary Group | Wrexham, North Wales & Chester

Are you looking for a part-time role where you can enjoy a varied first-opinion caseload, work alongside an experienced team and still have time for life outside of work? Rhyd Broughton Veterinary Group is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join us across our Wrexham and Chester practices.

We're passionate about delivering high-quality veterinary care, excellent client communication and the best possible outcomes for our patients. We care for cats, dogs, rabbits and other small animals across North Wales, Cheshire and the surrounding areas, and take great pride in the friendly, supportive environment we've built.

Fix or flex – find your perfect balance

This is a part-time position working 23.5 hours per week, with flexibility to discuss working patterns that suit both you and the practice. Full-time applications will also be considered, so we're happy to have a conversation about what might work best. Our weekend rota is shared across the team and currently involves 1 in 3 Saturdays (8:30am–1pm) and 1 in 10 Sundays (9am–11am). There is no out-of-hours commitment, as we work with Vets Now, who provide our OOH service.

Team and facilities

You'll be joining a welcoming and collaborative team made up of 13 Veterinary Surgeons, 7 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 4 Student Veterinary Nurses, 3 Veterinary Care Assistants and 12 Client Care Team members, alongside our Practice Manager and Practice Director. Our nursing team is highly skilled and plays a huge part in supporting excellent patient care, so you'll always have a great team around you. We value sharing knowledge, supporting one another and creating an environment where everyone can continue to learn and develop.

Across our practices, you'll have access to modern facilities and equipment, including digital radiography, ultrasound, ECG and an IDEXX in-house laboratory. We also have spacious preparation areas, two operating theatres and a dedicated dental suite with digital dental radiography.

We're proud to be a Silver Standard Cat Friendly Clinic and a Dogs Trust Dog Friendly Practice, reflecting our commitment to making every visit as positive as possible for pets and their owners.

Location and culture

With practices in Wrexham and Chester, you'll enjoy the best of town, country and city living. There are beautiful outdoor spaces right on your doorstep, including the Clwydian Range and Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, while Chester, Liverpool and Manchester are all easily accessible. Whether you enjoy getting outdoors, exploring independent shops and restaurants or making the most of nearby city life, there's plenty to enjoy in the area.

Above all, you'll be joining a team that genuinely values collaboration, high standards of care and a supportive working environment. If you're looking for a role where you can feel part of a friendly team while enjoying a little more flexibility, we'd love to hear from you.
