About the role

At the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania, we protect Tasmanian industries, the environment, and public health, amenity and safety from the impacts of pests, weeds and diseases.

Biosecurity Tasmania is currently undertaking critical emergency response activities in relation to H5 bird flu. Veterinary Practitioners are required to support emergency animal disease responses and the ongoing management of disease incidents. This may include responding to outbreaks in commercial poultry operations, significant backyard poultry mortality events, or large-scale wildlife mortality incidents.

Please note that an employment register is not a vacancy and inclusion on a register does not guarantee any offer of employment will be made. This employment register will be used to fill fixed-term and casual positions, when required.
