Help shape where the next generation of electric transmission infrastructure gets built.

BGE, Inc. is a nationwide engineering consulting firm providing civil engineering, planning, landscape architecture, construction management, and environmental services for public and private clients.

BGE is seeking an experienced Transmission Siting, Routing & Permitting Specialist to support electric transmission projects across Texas, Oklahoma, and the surrounding region with the opportunity to work remote.

In this role, you'll help move critical transmission infrastructure from initial corridor concepts through siting, routing, environmental review, permitting, stakeholder coordination, and regulatory approval. You'll collaborate with engineering, environmental, GIS, right-of-way, and public involvement teams to develop solutions that balance engineering, environmental, regulatory, land-use, and community considerations.

We're especially interested in candidates with experience supporting electric utilities, transmission developers, or engineering/environmental consulting firms.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support electric transmission siting and routing studies, corridor evaluations, and route selection.
  • Evaluate routing alternatives based on environmental, engineering, land-use, regulatory, stakeholder, and constructability considerations.
  • Support environmental permitting and regulatory approval strategies for transmission and linear infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with engineering, GIS, environmental, cultural resources, right-of-way, and public involvement teams.
  • Prepare and review routing studies, environmental documentation, permit applications, and regulatory filings.
  • Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies throughout environmental review and permitting.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, public involvement, and landowner coordination.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client expectations.
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Help mentor team members and contribute to the growth of BGE's transmission and environmental practice.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Geography, Planning, Natural Resources, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience supporting electric transmission, utility, or linear infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with transmission siting, routing, corridor studies, environmental permitting, or regulatory review.
  • Understanding of environmental, regulatory, and land-use considerations associated with transmission infrastructure.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and deliverables.
  • Strong communication, technical writing, analytical, and project management skills.

Experience That Would Be a Plus

You don't need to check every box. We'd especially like to hear from candidates with experience in:

  • Texas electric transmission siting and routing
  • PUCT and Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) processes
  • ERCOT or Southwest Power Pool (SPP) transmission projects
  • NEPA and federal environmental review
  • Federal and state agency coordination
  • Public involvement and stakeholder engagement
  • Right-of-way, easement, or landowner coordination
  • ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or other GIS platforms
  • Utility-scale renewable energy or transmission interconnection projects

Why Join BGE?

At BGE, you'll have the opportunity to work on meaningful transmission projects while helping grow a developing practice backed by an established multidisciplinary engineering and environmental firm.

  • Help shape the future of electric transmission infrastructure across Texas, Oklahoma, and beyond.
  • Work on complex projects from early siting and routing through permitting and regulatory approval.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineering, environmental, GIS, planning, and right-of-way professionals.
  • Gain visibility with senior leadership and clients while expanding your technical and project leadership experience.
  • Grow into greater technical, project management, or leadership responsibility as the practice expands.

BGE employees also enjoy comprehensive health care, a generous 401(k) match, career development and mentorship opportunities, flexible Fridays, unlimited sick leave, floating holidays, and competitive time-away programs. [job-boards...enhouse.io]
