Essential Qualifications

Specific qualifications may vary according to the requirements of the position.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Special Working Conditions

Notice of Non-Discrimination on the Basis of Gender or Sex and Contact Information for Title IX Coordinator

Additional Information

California State University, Fullerton celebrates all forms of diversity and is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive environment within which students, staff, administrators and faculty thrive. Individuals interested in advancing the University’s strategic goals are strongly encouraged to apply. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for qualified applicants with disabilities who self-disclose.

Applicants will be required to disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended. Applicants who reach the final stages of the application process must also sign a release form that authorizes the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct.

Multiple positions may be hired from this recruitment based on the strength of the applicant pool.

If you are applying for a staff position, please note that you are not eligible to work concurrently in a staff position and an Academic Student position such as Graduate Assistant, Teaching Associate, Instructional Student Assistant or a Student Assistant position.

Regular attendance is considered an essential job function.

Employee/applicant who submits an application for a position may be required to successfully complete job related performance test(s) as part of the selection process.

Online application/resume must be received by electronic submission on the final filing date by 9:00 PM (Pacific Standard Time)/midnight (Eastern Standard Time). Applicants who fail to complete all sections of the online application form will be disqualified from consideration.

The person holding this position may be considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

On September 19, 2025, a $100,000 Fee for H-1B employment petitions was established by the "Presidential Proclamation: Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers.” Due to a pending lawsuit and interim federal court decision, the Fee is currently unenforceable and cannot be charged. As a result, for tenure-track faculty positions, Cal State Fullerton is currently able to consider sponsoring applicants for H-1B employment. However, a future court decision or governmental action could change the Fee’s status. For that reason, whether Cal State Fullerton is able and willing to serve as a sponsor will depend on the actual status of the Fee at the time an eligible candidate is selected. As previously noted, Cal State Fullerton will not sponsor applicants for H-1B employment who are subject to the Fee.

CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be immunized against COVID-19 or declare a medical or religious exemption from doing so. Any candidates advanced in a currently open search process should be prepared to comply with this requirement. The systemwide policy can be found at https://calstate.policystat.com/policy/9779821/latest/ and questions may be sent to hr.fullerton.edu
