About the role

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our growing Project Management team in Singapore. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our engineers and cross-functional partners to influence the future of HRT’s trading systems and operations. You will play a pivotal role in shaping how our engineering teams execute, collaborate, and deliver innovative projects that drive our technology and business forward.

In this role, you will leverage your technical background, organizational skills, and domain knowledge to drive projects from inception to production: establishing delivery goals, identifying project gaps, tracking progress, and coordinating across numerous teams. Your strong cross-functional communication skills will be crucial to keeping stakeholders updated and engineering teams aligned. Your technical background will help to streamline our processes, utilizing traditional development methods in conjunction with AI tools. Your domain experience will be relied upon to help grow the reach of project management within the firm and to mentor more junior TPMs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering teams to establish and refine project management guidance, identify deliverables, track progress, and provide status updates
  • Engage with key stakeholders to define priorities and communicate project schedules, progress, and risks
  • Drive project delivery by identifying dependencies early, coordinating feature and function rollouts, and addressing gaps in larger initiative plans
  • Develop and maintain project plans using tools such as Jira
  • Develop and enhance our suite of project management tools, utilizing AI to maximize their impact across the firm
  • Provide strategic problem-solving and process improvement suggestions
  • Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and ensure alignment across related teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of proven experience working with engineering teams and managing software development projects in the finance and/or trading industry
  • Ability to decode and assess the impact of proposed changes on our systems, business processes, and trading lifecycle
  • Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail, with the ability to grasp complex technical concepts
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate detailed problems to colleagues in various roles and functions
  • Comfort on the command line and experience in programming/scripting
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
