Job Title: Product Manager

Location: Los Angeles, CA (On-site)

Employment Type: Full-time

Start Date: Immediate

Reports to: Senior Director of Product

Role Overview

As Product Manager, you turn the direction and priorities set by the Senior Director of Product into clear requirements, a working backlog, and work that ships. You work daily with engineering, make the day-to-day product calls, bring what users need into the team, and track whether what ships is working.

The role grows with the studio, with a path to broader ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate product direction and priorities into requirements, a prioritized backlog, and acceptance criteria the team can build against.
  • Make day-to-day product and scope decisions, and bring larger tradeoffs to product leadership with options and a recommendation.
  • Work with engineering on dependencies, sequencing, and release timing.
  • Plan and run releases and rollouts with engineering.
  • Own user feedback: bring it in complete, prioritized by impact, and ready for decision.
  • Lead user and market research that informs product decisions.
  • Define, track, and report success metrics, with a concise weekly view of what shipped, what was learned, and what is at risk.
  • Apply AI tooling across product operations and continuously improve how the team runs.

Qualifications

  • 4 to 7 years in product management, including at least one product you helped take from idea to users.
  • Commercial sense: who the users are, what they value, and how a product grows.
  • Technical fluency to work closely with engineers and ask the right questions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to tailor status, risk, and tradeoffs to the audience.
  • Daily, hands-on use of AI tools in your own work.
  • Discretion and comfort working with confidential material under NDA.
  • Based in Los Angeles and available on-site.

Preferred

  • Experience as an early product hire at a startup.
  • Experience in film, TV, or media technology.
  • Exposure to generative AI tools and workflows.

Compensation

We offer a highly competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including equity.

Benefits

We believe in supporting our team’s well-being and growth. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage, with employee premiums covered 100%.
  • Time Off: Generous paid time off (PTO) policy, including company holidays and sick leave.
  • Financial Security: 401(k) matching program to help you plan for your future.
  • Work Environment: A dynamic, creative, and inclusive hybrid work environment based out of our innovative studio.

Promise is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
