About the role
We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our manufacturing operations in Merlimau, Melaka.
As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in overseeing a team of production workers, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality output. This is a full-time position based on-site at our facility.
In this role you will
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of production workers
- Monitor team performance and productivity, and implement strategies to optimize workflows
- Provide hands-on training and coaching to team members to develop their skills
- Identify and resolve any operational issues or bottlenecks in a timely manner
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute production schedules
- Provide regular progress reports to management
You will have
- Proven experience as a Team Leader / Supervisor / Shift Lead in a manufacturing environment, especially heavy industry
- 5 to 7 years in moulding
- Strong engineering drawing skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a team
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control & resource management
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic team. Able to work on shift hours (morning and afternoon), 6 days work week (Mon to Sat) but do not exceed 45 hours per week
Qualification
Certificate or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology (other types of Engineering / Technical disciplines will be considered.
Technical Skills
- Foundry pattern - pattern assembly, repair, and familiarity with wood, metal and resin patterns
- Knowledge of casting design principles, tolerances and shrinkage allowance
- Tooling - machining processes, jigs, fixtures, gauges and tooling design. Require proficiency in CAD/CAM software
